Helsinki Free Walking Tour - Fantastic tour with Kieto as the guide. Detailed but conversational, allowed for lots of questions and discussion. Very knowledgable! Took time at the end of the tour to allow everyone to ask questions so he could give advice about places to visit in Helsinki based on everyone’s personal interests

Helsinki Walking tour - I cannot recommend this walking tour that we booked online (Green Cap Free Walking Tour) highly enough. My husband and I joined our guide Birte (who wore a green cap to identify her from other group guides waiting in Senate Square) along with others at the base of the White Church on a cool slightly drizzly morning. It was the very first day of our Scandi tour of the capitals and the fjords. Best decision we made. Birte talked to us about the history of Finland with respect to Sweden and Russia, the influence of Michael Agricola, pointed out architectural points of commonality with St. Petersburg, introduced us to modern urban architecture of Helsinki including the influence of Alvar Aalto, and was such a delight that morning. Her humor, patience, charm, and deep love of Helsinki and Finland were clear in everything she said and showed. We saw every one of the places the description mentions. She explained to us about how people gathered at Havis Amanda during events of celebration or protest, the importance of the Aalto building, the truly exquisite Oodi library where the tour concluded. She urged us to try the famous Salmon soup and book ourselves a visit to a Finnissh sauna . What Birte reminded us is that a place is its people, and Helsinki has a special place in our hearts for its beauty and for its sweet people. Thank you Birte, and Green Cap Free tours. The tour is free, and you can tip the guide as you wish.

Well worth your time - Our guide Alvaro far surpassed our expectations, provided clear and accessible information, a great out/insider perspective (the best kind), and helped us appreciate and more clearly see both the great city of Helsinki and country of Finland. Well worth the time, and I recommend it to anyone. (I've been a tour guide myself for 10 years and immediately realized I should have paid him more than the standard local-guide fee.)

A Lovely Guide for a Lovely City - Yesterday morning we spent 2 plus hours with Siri hitting many of the highlights of Helsinki. Even with occasional rain, we — and the others on the tour — had a thoroughly enjoyable day. Siri was informative, charming, and knew where to stand to avoid the occasional rain. The tour hits the major sites (at least the exterior of them), including Helsinki Cathedral, the Russia Orthodox Cathedral, the Presidential Palace, the Railway Station, and the Library. It is a great overview to a charming city.

We turned up, but the guide didnt! - What a disappointment, and wasted morning. Showed up to the start point as per instructions from the booking. 2 other couples also looking for a tour. Perhaps they are out of business - but I wasted my morning on this. I would not recommend booking this tour, or your time may also be wasted. Such a shame.
