Highlights
  • Akrotiri Lighthouse - Our first stop takes us to the historic Akrotiri Lighthouse. Standing tall since the 19th century, this sentinel offers panoramic views of the azure waters that have charmed seafarers for centuries. Feel the breeze, capture some memories, and relish in the vast expanse of the Aegean.
  • Perivolos Beach - Let the horizon captivate you before we whisk you to the unique beauty of Perivolos. Here, the striking black sands meet crystal-clear waters in a dance of contrasts, a spectacle to behold and experience firsthand.
  • Megalochori - Traditional Village - Meander through the cobblestoned pathways of Megalochori, an enchanting village that echoes tales of yesteryears. With its preserved bell towers, quaint squares, and welcoming locals, it’s a delightful step back in time.
  • Monastery of Profitis Ilias - As you leave its charm, ascend to Profitis, a vantage point that offers unparalleled views, serenity and breathtaking panoramic photos that words can scarcely describe.
  • Cave Wine Museum - Winery Koutsogiannopoulos Santorini (Υπόσκαφο Μουσείο Οίνου - Οινοποιείο) - As the day matures, we indulge in Santorini’s vinicultural legacy. Revel in a wine tasting session, savoring varietals that have blossomed from this volcanic soil. Let the notes of Assyrtiko dance on your palate as the winemakers share tales of grapevines and harvests.
  • Ieros Naos Panagias Episkopis Thiras - Witness the oldest preserved church of Santorini, Panagia Episkopi. Its walls, steeped in history, hold artwork and religious artifacts that mirror the island’s rich Byzantine heritage.
  • Sunset in Oia - Finally, as the sun begins its descent, we find ourselves in Oia, the crown jewel of Santorini. The village, bathed in golden hues, offers an unmatched view of the sunset. As the sun melts into the horizon, the world seems to pause, and in that moment, you’re one with the magic of Santorini.

Great day out - Loved this trip. Enjoyed every stop, plenty of time to see everything, and tour guide Mario was very helpful. He even booked us a table st a rooftop restaurant at Oios to watch the sunset! Wine museum and tasting very good.

The tour for you - This tour is like the greatest hits of Santorini. This was a small group tour of 8-10 people as opposed to the massive tour buses, which allowed us a more intimate view of the sights. Gregory, our good humored bus tour guide, was very knowledgeable giving us historical gems of the island from the bus and giving us ample time to trek through the sites and getting the most beautiful panoramic photos. Includes stops at traditional towns, monastery, red and black beaches, prehistoric archeological site (separate small entrance fee), a winery (with tasting) and the iconic sunset view at Oía at the end of the tour. A must do if you want a proper tour of Santorini.

Great experience, greater staff - I went on this tour with my sister and my grandmother. My grandma cannot walk well and gets tired very easily, and we also had a plane to catch back to the mainland before the tour ended. The staff we communicated with through email, on the phone, and in person were all extremely understanding and helpful with our issues. When we couldn’t find the meeting point, we called the tour company and they guided us to a nearby hotel and sent someone to pick us up.they also tried very hard to allow us to make the last stop before our flight, unfortunately we couldn’t make it, but they consistently kept us updated on whether or not we could and made sure we didn’t miss our flight by dropping us off near a taxi service before the last stop. As for the tour itself, there was an excellent variety of things to do and our guide was friendly and informative. Driving around Santorini’s stunning views and rich history was an incredible experience and I’m disappointed that we couldn’t see the sunset in Oia (but thankful that the guide and driver didn’t let us miss our flight) because of how great everything else was.

Something to please everyone - This is a small group tour, which is good, but the most important things Sunway have done is hire great staff. Our tour guide Christos was well informed and very good at his job and our guide at Akrotiri knew every detail of the place. The tour covers the island and is a good way to see how big the island is and what you would like to go back to and spend more time on. Christos shared his in-depth knowledge of the history and society of Santorini in a way that added immense value to the tour.

Nice experience - Very nice day, good guide. Small group in airconditioned bus. Only disappointing thing was that we did not visit the excavations in Akrotiri.

Terrible guide - My daughter and I went on this tour with only four other people. The tour itself is well planned out for lots of sightseeing. I would have given this tour a much higher rating if we would have had a different guide. We had hoped it would be someone of Greek descent as everyone on the island were so friendly and kind. We had a girl from Belarus who was rude to all of us the entire day. She ordered us around as if we were in the military. Other than her required information to us, there was zero interaction. It was. . . “Hurry up!” “Go!l “Do NOT be late!” We overheard her tell people that it was her last day and she could not wait to be done with us. Never in all the small group tours I have taken, have I been treated so poorly. She RUINED the trip for us. Definitely not worth the 50 euros for such treatment.

Waste of money - We spent 45 minutes waiting at a bus stop on Agiou Athanasiou without seeing a bus identified for Sunway Travel. We then discovered an email the next day advising that the bus was waiting for us at Exparxio which we had not been advised of in advance. Very disappointing and a major rip off.
