Great day at the volcano! - We very much enjoyed the tour. The ship was perfect! Captain and mates so nice. The captain had a world of history on the formation of the islands and the volcano. The volcano tour was a challenging walk but spectacular views at the top. Tour guide was so knowledgeable. Swimming great for cool off!

Fun and very easy from the cruise port - Very enjoyable for the very reasonable price- we enjoyed the boat ride to the volcano and the historical overview of the volcanos history from the guide We hiked to the top to see the small vents and smell the sulfur- it was already very hot by May so beware it will be difficult to do this hot hot hike in the warmer summer months. The thermal baths were cold but still had a good time with the kids- it was nice that it was accessible at the bottom of the post by the cruise tenders so we were not stressed on time getting back to the ship

Good trip - Great trip to see the volcano on the boat. The boat wasn’t crowded and the guide was very knowledgeable about the history of Santorini. The hot springs wasn’t much though

No safety or emergency protocol - This started off as a great tour. The hike up to the volcano was lead by a very knowledgeable guide who was very nice. Great views and cool to see the smoke coming from the volcano. Our next stop was the hot springs, a very pretty spot. We enjoyed our swim there. Sadly, just as our time there was complete, another guest had a medical event and other guests shouted for help. Other guests performed CPR, my son in law and son swam to main boat for help and screamed for a life raft which they swam to the location. No one from the shop was willing to help. It took 45 minutes for a medical boat to arrive. Unfortunately the man passed away but it was extremely sad for all the guests to not only witness but to try and rescue this poor man with no safety equipment being on board or offered. Other tours usually have a staff in a zodiac monitoring guests while in the water and some protocol for emergencies. We all felt so bad for his family who watched this and guests who stepped up to help. We know bad things can happen but it was the lack of emergency procedures and equipment and a lack of assistance from any staff that made it so much worse.

Not as advertised - The swim at the hot springs was nothing like advertised. You pulled up to the springs location and had to swim quite a long distance and was only given 30 minutes.

Initially Great But Progressively Traumatizing - **Do not read if you are sensitive to topics of death*** The trip itself was good, the volcanic island was beautiful and the hot springs was great as well, until we encountered the very sad event of a gentleman dying.. The man was a father to 2 girls around the age of 15-25 and a husband to a very lovely woman whom I had to take care of during this tragedy, due to the staff not being capable enough to do it themselves. The gentleman was found by tourists in the water and brought to a shallow area where they began doing CPR. By the time I arrived the to the scene (I am a trained CPR health care worker in Canada) the “lifeguard” abroad was standing there watching them and told me to leave. I listened thinking since he was a trained lifeguard staff member that he would be capable enough to take care of the situation properly, I ended up finding out he did nothing on his part which was sickening… As I swam back to the boat to get more help, I saw that the wife of that poor gentleman was screaming and crying and WAS LEFT TO WATCH THIS WHOLE TRAGEDY. I took the responsibility to go up to her and bring her to the side of the boat where she could no longer see her husband receiving CPR. Passengers including myself were telling the other staff members to jump in and help save this poor man as it was NOT up to US to take over a situation like this. Finally about 5-10 mins later the gentleman was brought by Raft as yet again a PASSENGER was still giving him CPR. By the time he was lifted on the boat it was obvious it was too late. Not sure if the staff member who took over the CPR on the boat was a real doctor but he claimed to a lot of passengers that he was, yet he refused to jump in the water to help him.. Besides the point, although the situation was tricky, I am beyond disgusted that the other staff members left the wife and daughters to watch this tragedy as they could’ve taken them elsewhere on the boat to not watch. As i work in health care i took to my abilities to calm the wife and daughters down get them blankets and water and keep them as far away from the situation until some sort of ambulance arrived. Once the gentleman was brought by rescue boat 30 mins later and declared dead as per the blood pressure machines, the staff still did nothing much to check on the rest of the passengers to make sure everyone was okay, people were crying and the gentleman who performed CPR for the most part was clearly very affected. Again I took the responsibility to ask staff for water for passengers and sat with people until they felt a little better. As someone who works in health care in Canada this type of situation would have been handled a lot better.. a Defibrillator should’ve been on board and staff should’ve been better trained to handle a situation like this, not just for the gentlemen who passed away but for his family who had to watch and the rest of the passengers who were affected afterwards. My sincere condolences go to the wife, the 2 daughters and the rest of this gentlemen’s family. I hope all the passengers abroad also get to take care of themselves as this tragedy can truly traumatize people. Please to the staff members of this tour, take the time to educate yourselves on how to handle a situation like this better, this is a life and a very serious matter..

Book elsewhere - lack of care and safety - I strongly DO NOT recommend and advise against booking with this company. They do not have the safety and well being of customers in mind and it is completely ridiculous. In the hot springs a man had an incident in the water (we don’t know exactly what happened) and people called for help. There were several trip-goers nearby who immediately jumped into help and began doing CPR. However, the crew from the company did absolutely nothing, were completely passive and complacent. They had no safety/emergency protocol and also showed a complete lack of care for the man or the other people who were trying to help the man. It was as though they threw their hands up and said they couldn’t do anything. It was only because a few of us yelled at the workers to do so something that they finally put a stretcher in the water for the man. Very sadly, the man passed away. It was very upsetting to see the workers of the company not take charge in the situation to help the man or the trip-goers involved. If your family or loved ones ever needed help I would absolutely NOT trust this company to look out for you. Do not book with them.
