Outstanding Tour - This free tour at was a lovely surprise. We had a local guide who was extremely knowledgeable about the city its history and presented in a humorous way. Elizabeth kept all of us (19) together without us feeling left out.

Unprofessional and unreliable - We had a really bad experience with this company and its owner. Two months before our trip to Florence this spring, I contacted Annalisa Menconi, who is the owner of the company, to inquire about their tours as we were interested in private tours in Florence and Tuscany. We had a zoom meeting where we discussed our interests and preferences and agreed on a private 3-hour city tour with an art and history expert as well as a Truffle Hunting tour in Tuscany. I got a confirmation from Annalisa via email after the call. In addition, I followed up with her prior to our departure to Italy to make sure that everything was still according to the plan. Everything was confirmed! We spent the first three weeks in Italy in Rome and Sicily. Three days prior to flying to Florence I sent another reminder to Annalisa about our arrival in Florence and inquired about the name of the private guide/start time of the tour. It was important for us to have an art and history expert as my husband has an advanced degree in art and is a history buff. The day before our arrival I got an email from Annalisa telling me that she will be our guide and she will meet us at our hotel at 10 am for the private tour. We were taken aback as we were promised a tour with the art/history expert, not with the travel agent, but we didn't have many options at that point. 10 minutes prior to 10 am tour start time we got an email from Annalisa that she had an emergency and couldn't do the tour until the afternoon. Well, we had tickets to the Academia in the afternoon. I told Annalisa that we would make alternative arrangements and will not need her services. Though we had a confirmation for the Truffle Hunting tour, I was pretty sure that it was a sham and it would not materialize. Fortunately, the concierge in our hotel, Relais Uffizi, was able to arrange a private tour for us with a fantastic guide. She really saved the day and made our introduction to Florence extra special. I think that the way were treated by Annalisa and Slow Tuscany Tours was very unprofessional and could have spoiled our Italian vacation if not for Irene and the wonderful staff at our hotel. I would not recommend dealing with this company - there are a lot of good choices for tours in Florence.
