Highlights
  • Florence - After meeting your expert guide, an air-conditioned coach will whisk you away to the first stop of the day, Pisa. The drive to Pisa will take about 1 hours 15 minutes. During the journey, your guide will explain the itinerary for the day and entertain you with interesting facts about Pisa and the Leaning Tower!!! - Piazza dei Miracoli - Upon arrival, your guide will lead you straight to the famous Square of Miracles. At first sight, it is truly breathtaking - the white marble buildings glow in contrast to the perfect, green lawns. You will have about an hour to explore the Cathedral, Baptistry, Monumental Cemetery, and of course - The Leaning Tower! Upgrade to include skip-the-line entry, if you wish. - Leaning Tower of Pisa - During your time in Pisa, you can climb the Leaning Tower to admire the incredible views of the Square of Miracles from above. The views from the top of the Tower are truly breathtaking - from the monuments below, to the city surrounding the square, the Arno River, and the countryside in the distance… and part of the fun is also climbing the stairs inside the Leaning Tower that we will make you feel a bit dizzy at the end! To avoid disappointment, we suggest to upgrade to include the pre-booked tickets since the entrance to climb the Leaning Tower is according to time slots. - Pisa - Join a horse carriage ride to see Pisa riverside and the city beautiful squares and monuments. - Lucca - After the visit of Pisa, a 30-minute drive will take you to Lucca, a beautiful walled city known as the ‘Little Vatican’ of Tuscany, due to its many churches. Having been briefed by your guide, and therefore confident to explore and get the very most out of Lucca, he or she will take you to the charming historical centre where you can opt for a walking or a bike tour of the city. - Puccini Museum - Casa Natale - Hear stories about Puccini, the most famous person from Lucca and opera writer. Perhaps you are thinking ‘I’m not a big fan of opera so I wouldn’t know’ , but if I say Madam Butterfly, even those who don’t know much about opera have heard of it! And do you remember Nessun Dorma, made famous by Pavarotti? Well that was Puccini too. He also wrote Turandot, Tosca, and la Boheme. The house museum is located in the historic center of Lucca, in corte San Lorenzo, n. 8: this is where the composer was born on December 22, 1958 and spent his early years training in music before moving to Milan. Puccini lived in many houses throughout his life, but he always had a special place in his heart for the one in Lucca. - Via Fillungo - Via Fillungo is the main street that runs right through Lucca’s historic centre, within the bounds of its walls. It is today a crooked, irregular street, typically medieval in its aspect, and following it is the best way to see the whole city. While walking, you can admire the charming windows of the old Lucchese palaces and cafés. - Piazza Anfiteatro - Towards the end of via Fillungo, make your way to the unique, oval-shaped heart of the city - Piazza dell’Anfiteatro. Not only is this a stunning and lively square, but it is also one of the most historic parts of the city, filled with stories and legends. This square was first constructed in the 1st century AD as an amphitheatre, and then continued to flourish as it transformed into a vibrant market. Now, you will find the restaurant-lined square it is today! - San Michele in Foro - San Michele in Foro is one of the most beautiful churches located in the Roman center of Lucca. This basilica dates back to the year 1000 and conserves priceless works of art. A large marble statue depicts the Archangel Michael defeating the dragon is placed at the top of the facade. Legend says that on bright days you can see a green sparkle gleaming on the statue, which some believe may be an emerald nestled somewhere in the statue, but the stone has never been found. - Florence - Enjoy some time to independently explore Lucca after the tour finishes. Grab any last minute souvenirs before heading back to Florence. The drive will take about 45 minutes, andYou will dropped off at the start point with a camera full of pictures and memories you will never forget!

You must see Pisa and Lucca while in Italy! - This tour far exceeded our expectations! We knew it would be a good time but Sara was exceptional. Pisa is a must see - the cathedral was stunning. Lucca is definitely a hidden gem and we would have missed this exceptional city had we not taken this tour. It is so clean, beautiful and charming. In addition it was not packed with crowds like the more popular destinations in Italy. Sara made it a point to visit with each member or our group to ensure we all were having a good time. We would highly reccommend this tour!

Highly recommend the tour. - Angie, our guide, gave us lots of info on the way to Pisa, but allowed us to just enjoy the scenery. She rearranged our time in Lucca so we could enjoy a bit to eat and savor Lucca.
