Highlights
  • Gallerie Degli Uffizi - The Uffizi Gallery (Italian: Galleria degli Uffizi) is a prominent art museum located adjacent to the Piazza della Signoria in the Historic Centre of Florence in the region of Tuscany, Italy. One of the most important Italian museums and the most visited, it is also one of the largest and best known in the world and holds a collection of priceless works, particularly from the period of the Italian Renaissance.

After the ruling house of Medici died out, their art collections were gifted to the city of Florence under the famous Patto di famiglia negotiated by Anna Maria Luisa, the last Medici heiress. The Uffizi is one of the first modern museums. The gallery had been open to visitors by request since the sixteenth century, and in 1765 it was officially opened to the public, formally becoming a museum in 1865.

Today, the Uffizi is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Florence and one of the most visited art museums in the world.

Once your Uffizi tour concludes, you can unwind with a beverage at the cafeteria while marveling at the remarkable views from the Uffizi Gallery’s terrace. Feel free to relax and snap photographs.

Terrific experience - Vera is an excellent tour guide. We learned so much and now understand a lot more about Renaissance art. She pointed out important details as we walked to the Uffizi and referred back to them later in the tour. As the Uffizi gallery is always very crowded I wouldn’t have known what to look at or understood important details and history without Vera.

Time well spent. - This was for us a very good tour. It was on time and we got in immediately even though the crowds were large. Our guide was knowledgeable and experienced. This was a great value.

Tour Uffizi it is a must - We enjoyed the tour a lot, in 2 hours we saw the most important parts of the museum, for the kids it was long enough. We recommend our guide Julia, very nice and well prepared.

A must do! - Booked online from New Zealand and when we arrived at the tour office they were expecting us. Good start. There were only 10 in our tour, led by Julia - she was amazing. As the tour was only 90 minutes we only had time to see the key masterpieces - this is what we wanted. Julia provided background to the gallery as a whole and the individual paintings. After the tour we could roam around as much as we wanted. 5 stars to Julia!!

Skip the line is worth it! - I liked the history and cultural discussion of the paintings. Wish there was more time to view the Botticelli paintings.

Crowded but good to see - I liked the tour and history behind the art. The guide had a lot of information but wasn't always easy to understand his English. The place was crowded and thus confusing in a group. The visit is worthwhile, though not likely "top of the list"

not a great tour - Unfortunately the experience was not great. The uffizi was completely crowded and our guide spoke English with a very strong German accent far from the microfone, making it difficult for Latin people to understand.

Frustrating and disappointing - Would never do this again. Our group had to wait 1-1/2 hours in line to enter despite our skip the line tour status. Big problem with someone over selling tickets. It’s more of a zoo than a museum. Hundreds and hundreds of people were cramming every room at once…it was suffocating and surely a fire hazard in gallery rooms… getting shoved, pushed and stepped on was insane. It was a claustrophobic experience! Couldn’t see art well, let alone photograph. Rude people everywhere. Tour guide was going to cut tour from 2 hours to 30 minutes bexatse if long wait to get in and because she said she had another tour to do. When many of us demanded our money back the company found another guide to take her next tour. She was nice but hard to understand her English and her detail and history of artworks were too complicated, too long, and hard to follow.
