The Buck Stops at The Truman Little White House - Chet was our tour guide at the Truman Little White House. Wow… this man is so knowledgeable and passionate about history. The entire tour was so interesting. Prior to this visitation, I was unaware of all of politics happening in Key West in the past. I just loved all of the little stories that Chet told us about President Truman. This is a must do event in Key West.

Bob - This was my favorite museum simply because our tour guide, Bob, was fantastic. He knew everything there is about President Truman and the property. We also had our 9 month old and Bob was not thrown off at all and was very welcoming.

Little White House - Truman Term - We books this tour as part of a combination ticket. We arrived and sat for a video before our tour. Really appreciated the work being done to preserve a point in time. The Little White House has some real story to be told during Truman's term. The docent was informed about the house and history. They are currently in renovation of some the areas but did not take away from the tour.

The Harry S. Truman Little White House - I absolutely recommend a visit to the Little White House, especially for self-identified history buffs. The guides and exhibits both earn high marks. I leaner more in the 35-minute tour about Truman's involvement the second world war then I have in a lifetime.

A trip back in time - Very interesting stories told by our tour guide Bill. This house has a big history and we enjoyed the learning about the visits of Truman and other high level government officials.

American History in Key West - Great piece of American history (with AC!) Truman accomplished so much during his presidency and yet he was under appreciated in his time. Highly recommend this tour. Good for all ages. Tour guide was very knowledgeable.

Fascinating - even if you are not a history buff. - Feeling presidential? Come visit Harry Truman's historic desk in Key West and stand at the very spot where momentous decisions were made! And if you need to make any important calls, just pick up the antique phone on the desk - we're pretty sure it's a direct line to the Oval Office. So come on down and experience the power and prestige of standing near Truman's desk. Just don't blame us if you suddenly feel the urge to start whistling "The Missouri Waltz"!

Interesting if you like history. - About $25 for the guided tour. The guide takes you to a couple of rooms on the first floor providing interesting info. Then they give you a few bullet points about each room on the second floor but do not accompany the group up there. The group reassembles after everyone comes back to the first floor and the guide talks about the remaining room. Despite thinking it odd that the tour guide did not accompany us upstairs, it was an interesting place. I do not believe that there is an elevator. About 30-45 minutes for the tour. OK but I Won’t be Returning - 31st July 2024. The tour cost $68.85 for three of us. We were met by what seemed like quite a ‘surly’ lady who told us that we could only visit the shop and grounds without a tour. Bob was a great guide and spoke well. However, I did feel a lack of sensitivity over the Hiroshima bomb (approved by Truman) and then a second one which apparently, he might not have approved!! The tour is five rooms. A breakfast/bar type room, a dining room, two bedrooms and an area outside the bedrooms. I got the feeling that the house was quite small until I saw it from the outside. So I guess it is quite limited in what you are actually being shown. I’d read about a presidential car, but we saw no sign of it. We finished our tour 15 minutes before closing. Gift shop was nice but the rest room was locked. We asked in the shop but the lady had no key and Bob advised us to go to a public rest room 15 minutes walk further down the road. The ‘surly’ lady had gone and it seems that she might have had the key. In the heat of Key West, the walk to the rest room for a 70 year old man and his 60 year old wife is not nice. The staff didn’t didn’t care and didn’t really want to know. I’m not sure whether I’d recommend this or not. I won’t visit again because it’s quite expensive really, for a limited tour. In contrast to another visit that we did, this seemed restrictive and had what seemed like slightly tetchy staff. The Butterfly Centre up the road by contrast was cheaper, you could stay as long as you like, you could leave and come back, they had open restrooms and the staff were lovely. Huge contrast to this dark house where you aren’t allowed to photograph and even if you did, it’s very dark and it contains staff who don’t seem to have much to do with you really, except Bob with his talk.
