One of a kind experience - We took the Airboat tour in the Everglades Holiday Park. It was a really fun experience because we got to see the alligators living in their natural habitat. I reccomend going earlier in the morning to this ride because we went around 5:00 pm (which is the time where the alligators usually sleep) and we only saw about 3 gators. The alligators came close to the boat allowing us to get closer looks of them. The boat goes through some canals of water and the view of the horizon line is amazing!! I definitely recommend this ride!

Animal encounter with Matt - Our first time visiting Everglades holiday park even though the boat ride for me, and the family was all right. The best experience we had was the animal encounter with Matt. His customer service skills was amazing and he was very knowledgeable, very professional, and very experience and best of all his sense of humor. He made me my husband and my children feel really safe throughout the animal encounter. He is truly amazing and thanks to him. We had a wonderful time and know more about animals. Matt gets a five out of five rating in my experience. He also changed my husband‘s perspective towards snakes, even though he was very scared of snakes he conquered his fear thanks to Matt.

Not worth the money - First - don't expect to see alligators on the airboat ride. They are nocturnal and are not very active during the day. If you do get to see one, they will likely be in the shady parts of the swamp. Enjoy the airboat ride for what it is - a boat ride. The captain of the boat, or at least the one we had, was not very entertaining or informative. He gave us some nuggets of information here or there but nothing the average person didn't know. His mic kept cutting out so even when he was telling us about how indians would meet at this particular location in the middle of the night to trade moonshine to avoid being caught by the authorities during prohibition (found that to be a bit far fetched), you couldn't understand the whole story. Second - after the 40 minute boat ride you can go see the gator show. Kevin was our gator guide. Behind a glass enclosure he should us the oldest gator in the pen, told us why the gators were at the facility, pulled on gator out of the water and show us how he can straddle it while holding it's mouth open with his chin (golf clap). I didn't learn much about gators and I feel he took every opportunity possible to mention how he is paid only with tips. He did not take questions during the performance other than at the end as he stood by a very large tip box. Third - after the show, you walk through this little maze of caged reptiles (insert faint ooozz's and ahhh's). Two staff members are standing by with baby alligators you can take a picture with for $10 (petty way to squeeze more money out of you). Overall, I do not think paying $40 per person ($28 for kids 3-11) was worth the money. The entertainment value was minimal, the educational value was paltry and in the end I found myself asking, "What did I just spend $120 for my family of three on?" I left only with regret of coming here and will not recommend to anyone unless their exception are set very low.

Amazing air boat ride...cruel gator show - We saw a few gators and you could tell our air boat captain (captain chaos) really cared about the wildlife in the everglades. He was a great captain! The only reason for the 3 stars is the gator show after the ride, it was cruel and you could tell the gators just wanted to be left alone. They live in a cramped pen called the pit which sounds just as bad as it is. After the show you walk through this tiny area with animals in cramped cages and pens, foxes, racoons and goats that should be rehabilitated or at least live in sanctuaries with lots of space to roam and shaded areas. I was shocked and saddened to see how these animals lived

Overhyped - Was told this was a great way to see the Everglades. In reality, this is a great way to see a swamp, err, I mean river. Was expecting a fast-paced boat tour with occasional stops over a large area, not a slow-paced birdwatching tour with three speed runs of only ~35 mph. If you're looking for that, this is great. Otherwise, pay $35/car to enter the Everglades elsewhere and see wildlife/scenery for yourself.

Wait, not worth the trip or the money. - Seeing the alligators in the Everglades. However, I was informed by the Vater agent that the boats left at few 20 minutes. But she failed to tell me was that we would have to wait 2 to 3 hours to get on that boat. The Holiday Park from which the boats left had very few amenities. We were left standing around. In the heat. It seems priority. Is given to the cruise boat patience. I definitely would not recommend this trip. I now expect a full refund.

A Pathetic & Crowded Tourist Trap - The Everglades Holiday Park is mostly a pathetic and crowded tourist trap. The airboat ride was a little bit fun - but not very much. Just don't expect to see any wildlife while on the boat. From the minute you arrive you begin hearing cautions about not being guaranteed to see any alligators. Of course any self-respecting wild animals would flee the area where boat after boat after boat passes by every 10 minutes, each filled with ~100 gawking tourists and a boat driver narrating each step of the trip. But these boats are not ordinary motor boats, which are plenty loud; these boats have twin 500 horsepower engines that are REALLY SUPER LOUD. Wear earplugs and enjoy the brief speedboat ride. But -- wildlife encounters -- haha, no, of course not. The everglades themselves are just lush expanses of tall grass -- interesting for about the first 5 minutes. So, in an attempt to make up for this underwhelming trip, the boat drivers fill your time with humor as much as they can. It's a living. Afterwards (or beforehand) there is an "Alligator Display and Show" that is nice enough and worth seeing while you are there. However, the show is marred by the performer lamenting that he is an unpaid volunteer and you should give him a nice tip to support him and the environmental protection group that he works for. There are no signs (or if so I missed them) to highlight what this group is nor for you to consider making a charitable contribution to support their work. Just a big tip box where the performer stands as you exit. The whole thing just feels like a cheesy tourist trap. My opinion: Find something better to do. FYI: my wife and I attended without any children. It might be more interesting for young kids who have little experience with either nature or boats. But, meh.

Horrible and I want a refund! - Well, after seeing the show, which was outstanding, we were greeted by a guy on the dock, Capt Rick, who told us he’d be our Captain for our airboat tour. I was a little taken a back that our boat was not covered like the others, but I didn’t think much of it, until we got on the boat and Capt. Rick started the engines without any warning us of the engine’s noise. OMG, it was so loud it was painful. (Hearing protection would have been appreciated) After taking us only a few hundreds yard, Capt Rick then turned off the engine and without hesitation gave us a synopsis of his childhood and telling us that the next hurricane to hit southern Florida would most likely kill millions and wipe out half the state. (Yes, just what you want your kids to hear.) After 10 minutes of blabbering about his grandfather and the doomsday scenario, he started up the boat and took us through some high grass, which struck the passenger in front of us in the eye. (WTF I thought) After 5 minutes of boating, Capt. Rick once again stopped the boat, not to look for alligators, but once again to tell us about growing up with a grumpy Indian grandfather, his bout with cancer, how he’s going to be buried with a piece of rope in his mouth and finally telling us how he lost three fingers to an alligator. Oh, and if that wasn’t enough, he then launched himself off of the boat and warned us about putting pictures of him swimming on social media, because he would most likely lose his job. After a good 10 minutes of him telling stories in the water, where we were told there might be alligators, he got back on the boat and we headed back to shore. How in the hell can you have this lunatic, who put us in danger by jumping overboard, be a captain on one of your tours? I was so disappointing, as were my friends, and we walked away from the boat thoroughly disgusted by his behavior. Instead of even looking for alligators, this narcissist spent 45 minutes of our boat tour talking about himself and 15 minutes driving us around the Everglades with no interest of us seeing anything. Oh, and if his behavior wasn’t enough, calling a female passenger “Mamacita” 20+ times during our tour was totally disgusting and sexist. Please tell him slang for Mamacita means "hot, sexy woman" which any decent person would never use in a public setting. Lastly, I am also telling Viator about our day, since they’re the ones who I booked our tour. Sincerely Sean Murphy, A very unhappy customer!
