Magic Dolphin - We depart from the marina in Funchal and head offshore to encounter whales, dolphins, sea turtles and oceanic birds.
Our spotters on land use powerful binoculars to find the animals and send the boat directly to them!
Once we have explored offshore we typically cruise by Cabo Girão, the 2nd tallest sea cliff in the world. We then motor along the coast while the staff explain different points of interest like; Camara de Lobos Bay – a traditional fishing village; the world famous Reid’s Hotel where Winston Churchill used to stay during his visits to Madeira Island and much more!
You will be able to relax comfortably enjoy the beautiful views of the south coast of Madeira Island from our flagship vessel.

The hybrid-electric engines help reduce noise and emissions, making it a fantastic experience for our guests and our cherished sea mammals!
The boat includes double decker viewing areas, four trampoline nets at the front, two restrooms and two bars where beverages and snacks can be purchased.
Our certified crew is ready to provide everyone with an unparalleled experience. They are eager to share their expertise about the wildlife we’ll encounter, Madeira’s history and popular local spots.

Please arrive at the Funchal marina 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. All guests must check in with our friendly staff at our kiosk for a boarding pass. In respect to all of our guests the boat leaves on time. If you miss the boat, you will be not be issued a refund.

Never been disappointed - I have booked with Magic Dolphin multiple times and I have never been disappointed. The staff are so friendly and professional. They give you information on dolphins and whales and on the beautiful island of Madeira. I highly recommend this company.

Good experience with welcoming crew - Really nice trip. Lovely boat with friendly and welcoming crew, who explained fine about the dolphin group we were allowed to follow some time. Possibility to buy light refreshments on board as well as take a short swim from the boat. All in all a great experience, which can definitely be recommended :-)

Pretty good - Pretty nice and we saw everything we wanted to see.
The crew was very attentive and explaining
We were able to see dolphins, turtles and flying fish.
We swam in the high seas, which was brutal.

Very enjoyable trip - We have been to Madeira plenty of times, but spend most of our days up in the mountains and on the levadas. It was time for a different view of the island, and this was a great success. We took the advice of previous reviewers and installed ourselves at the front of the catamaran, just in front of the bridge. The crew spotted a school of dolphins and then later a sole hammerhead shark. There were a lot of people on the trip, but still everyone got to see as they slowly rotated the craft round quietly and did not distress the animals. It was very exciting. Later, there was the opportunity to swim via a staircase off the catamaran. The trip felt good value for the money and was a lovely way to spend a few hours.

Ok - This is a well organised trip and easy to book. All trips from Funchal are around the €40-60 per person price point. Our 3:30pm trip was very busy and when we did see Dolphins it was almost impossible to see them for our children and my wife due to all the adults standing at the front. I'm 6' 3" and I struggled! You get ten minutes with the dolphins due to the correct legislations to help not to disturb them and it was great to see dolphins in the wild. The crew on board were very helpful and friendly and were a credit to the company but would I go again on such a large trip?...no we would book one of the smaller trips (25 persons) so that hopefully you would get a good view.

Beautiful experience!! - Nice and well organized tour, received clear information in advance via the app.
During the trip we saw dolphins several times and enjoyed the service on board, unfortunately we did not swim anymore thanks to lack of time despite having booked for a tour with swimming. The captain had indicated that seeing wildlife took precedence over the swim stop, logically but despite a pity because we had booked for the swim.

Well but to improve - Boat trip to see dolphins and whales profitable. We actually saw dolphins and whales in the first hour and a half.
The rest of the time was devoted to the sea voyage to show the islands close to Madeira. I would have preferred more time spent searching for cetaceans

Disappointment - The staff was very unpleasant, the tour was not in accordance with what we paid (no swimming while we came back for it on purpose) We were extremely numerous on the catamaran, and we had to slalom between people to be able to see the dolphins. (No whale). A good illustration of mass tourism.
