First dive in Madeira! - It was my first dive, there were 3 of us (a couple and me) with the instructor, it's better I think when there aren't too many people at the same time. We started with a tour of the aquarium with commentary by our very enjoyable guide, then we learned the basics of the equipment. Then a first dive in the Velhas natural pool, where you can train and swim with the fish in the pool, it's already very impressive and pretty. We went diving with the fish in the Madeira aquarium (manta, bonito, sharks, moray eels,... 😍) The guide is very nice, he speaks French At first I wanted to book a baptism in the other companies but I preferred the one at the aquarium to swim with species that you don't necessarily find in the other companies.

Great club! - Beautiful diving in the club's House reef. Perfect for a smooth recovery. We hadn't dived for 8 years. Tao, our guide, took the time to give us a complete reminder. His explanations were very professional, clear and precise. He was patient and attentive, we were able to dive reassured and confident. The fish were there, a few barracudas as a bonus, a magnificent moray eel, a pretty cave and so on... We can only recommend! Julie and Nicolas

A great experience for beginners & experienced divers - We had a fantastic couple of days with the Madeira Divepoint team. My partner has his advanced open water qualification but hadn’t dived for a good few years, and I had never dived before. We had an intro dive together, practising the basics in the pool and then dived in the house reef with Mark. It was a great first dive for me, and a good refresher for my partner. The next day he went on a Shipwreck dive and I was able to work towards my open water qualification with three dives with Mark and then Wilfred in the afternoon. I felt safe and in good hands throughout the whole thing. It was also my partners birthday and they really provided a great day for him with a surprise ‘happy birthday’ message underwater. We would both happily recommend Madeira Divepoint for beginners like me and for more experienced divers. Plenty of wildlife to see too. Thanks again team, we hope to come back! 🐠🐡🦑

A memory you won't forget - This is an activity that is a must do while you vacation in Madeira. The instructor and I went through the basics of scuba diving and important things to keep in mind. We then spent about 30 minutes in a saltwater pool to get familiar with the needed equipment. Here we practiced swimming with flippers, taking the mouthpiece in and out and what to do in situations that may arise while diving. After a while, we went down the ocean and hopped in. We spent nearly an hour swimming around the coastline of Funchal exploring the sea life. We saw all kinds of fish, starfish, and other marine life. The whole time, the instructor stayed close by in case an emergency came about. He consistently checked in with me to make sure that I was comfortable and safe. I quickly became comfortable even though I have never been scuba diving before. This is great for all skill levels and is certainly an experience that you have to have while you are in town.

Unforgettable experience, any time again - We spontaneously went on a trial dive on Madeira and felt very well looked after by the Madeira Divepoint team. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the staff took a lot of time and gave us a comprehensive, precise and easy-to-understand introduction to diving, first theoretically and then in the pool. After the pool we went into the sea, and here too we felt safe because the diving instructors didn't leave our side. We dived with well-maintained and well-serviced equipment, which gave us additional security. Unfortunately the sea was a bit choppy because it had rained heavily in the morning, so visibility was somewhat limited. You also have to be aware that you don't go that far out into the sea on a trial dive and you shouldn't expect too many highlights. We enjoyed every fish and plant and our expectations were met. Excellent Team for First Dive - Let me say upfront that I decided to do the PADI Scuba Diver after this which means I booked one more dive with them. If you do this early in your trip you can even do the Open Water Diver (google PADI if interested). The team was very professional with everyone being really nice and in a good mood and ready to help with any problems. You have to fill out some questions about your health so make sure you don't have any illnesses that might prevent you from diving. We started with some basic theory about diving and after that went to the pool for the first exercises. Every step was explained and also shown before I had to do it. The teacher was with me all the time so it felt 100% safe at any point. Before going to the sea he made sure I felt safe and not anxious. We went over a few rules again. The hotel has a small reef upfront so this is where we went in. It was an amazing experience to bee in the sea the first time! You can see different fish and if you're lucky even octopus and sea horse. I wanted to see everything but at the same time you are really focused on breathing, the pressure and everything else. It's a little like driving for the first time - the view is not the most important thing. My lessons were in English but they offer German and other languages as well. Another excellent diving holiday in Madeira - Firstly, a massive thank you to everyone at Madeira Divepoint for making our diving so enjoyable. They looked after us really well both in & out of the water. This was our 8th diving holiday with them &, as always, we had a great time. We keep coming back because they offer safe diving & excellent customer service. We have some of our own gear but we hire wetsuits, BCDs & fins. All the rental equipment is in good condition. We were in Madeira for two weeks & we did 14 dives – they were very good about trying to offer us a variety of dive sites so that we weren’t doing the same ones all the time. If they have a mixed ability group then they send 2 or more guides so that they can split the group up & everyone gets a dive that is appropriate for their qualification & experience level. In addition to guided dives & courses for qualified divers, they offer Discover Scuba Diving courses for those who want to give scuba diving a try without doing the full open water course. Whether you are a qualified diver or looking to try diving for the first time, I would highly recommend Madeira Divepoint.

Amazing adventure - This is an amazing experience I would recommend to try you are looked after right from the start you have a theory talk first covering all safety then you supply all the gear you need and in to the pool and if everything is good you head out to the sea where we had a 30 min dive or until my air got low and we were guided back to the shore it was amazing to see all the wild life and I never once felt unsafe we had one person who did not feel confident to go out after the swimming pool session they were really good with her and no pressure and even offered to have another go in the pool instead of the sea. It is so far the best thing I have done in Madeira lovely people thank you so much.
