Prepare yourself for a sensory journey across the island. On this 4 hour tour, our qualified local guide will led you on this food,wine and cultural experience trough the streets of Funchal, to off the beaten path places, to taste a variety of local specialties.
All food and drinks are included, children or vegetarians are welcome, small groups are required to keep it conversational. The tour takes place on Monday, Tuesday Thursday and Friday at 1:00pm, Wednesday at 10:30am/ 5pm and Saturday at 10:30am.

Great introduction to Madeiran food and drinks - Great tour that brings you to multiple spots throughout Funchal. Our guide was very knowledgeable and guided us throughout the tour at a nice pace. My only recommendation is to consider adjusting the order of the stops. The first several stops were all desserts and sugary snacks (fruits, cakes, cookies, chocolate) and it was several hours into the tour before we tasted any cheese or savory bites. We were starving when we got to the tour and all of the sugar in the beginning was making us drowsy. However, once we got to the wine shop for the cheeses, meats, and wines, then went to the restaurant for dinner, we were very satisfied. Overall, this was a great experience that introduced us to many traditional Madeiran foods and drinks and we really enjoyed the evening.

Walk, talk and taste the culture. - The Madeira food, wine and cultural tour was one of the highlights of our trip to the island. As a local, our guide was able to tell us stories about growing up on the island, the traditions of different cultural and religious festivals and give recommendations for activities thereafter.
Ask lots of questions!
A key tip that we missed was that the meeting point is at the company office to the left of the sugar museum. The company so kindly rang us and waited until we arrived.

Loved loved loved it! Our favourite experience on Maderia - We fell across this food tour by accident as we passed their shop in the old town and it immediately sounded right up our street. Our guide shared loads of interesting useful and relevant information with us whilst walking us around the old town to some of the best foodie spots. Lunch included samples of lots of different local food with wine, we also had amazing pastel de nata, cheese and more wine tasting, Madeira wine tasting in a really excellent wine store with knowledgeable host and biscuit tasting at one of the best local shops. We finished with really good Poncha in a local bar. It was a fantastic afternoon and I’d thoroughly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to explore the local foods and drinks whilst in the area. Fabulous!

Amazing experience, left us full and happy! - Darlene was our guide and was great. Really welcoming, friendly and super knowledgable. The whole experience was amazing, we learnt so much as well as had some great food. we are vegetarian and the tour totally catered for us, and did not sacrifice on flavour either. It is so worth the money and lasts a good time too! We had the order of doing the bigger meal at the beginning and then smaller bites after as we walked around - this worked well but maybe should’ve have eaten so much at the first place!

Tasting our way through Portugal - Trying all the different foods was great. At first I thought the price of the tour was expensive, but after the tour was over I thought it was worth every penny. We got to taste so many things and all of it was great. The tour leader was very pleasant ×which added to the experience

Great experience! - This tour was great! Anna was a fabulous guide and so friendly. All the food we tried was OUTSTANDING and we got to try so many different things. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Funchal. Before we took the tour all of our meals were hit or miss because we really didn't know where to go, so this was a treat and success all around!

A your well worth doing! - A wonderful evening sampling local wine and food plus some extras!
All the places we visited were excellent.
I would highly recommend this tour but would advise booking the evening experience as I think it’s better value, you definitely won’t need dinner afterwards!
Our guide was very knowledgeable, not only did she go into detail about the wines and foods she also talked about the history of Madeira.
All in all a very nice evening!

Food and Wine Tour - We really enjoyed the tour, our guide Anna was lovely and very knowledgeable about the area in general. The food and wine was excellent and the four hours went by in a flash. We did not eat after the tour as we were full.
