Our journey to the island’s East began with a trip to Camacha, a location renowned for its wicker basket handicrafts. Then we traversed the Porto da Cruz village, a spot famous for its contribution to the region’s wine production, en route to Santana city, home to the popular straw-roofed houses. Post our meal in Faial, we embarked on a mountainous ascent towards Ribeiro Frio, proceeded with a tour of the trout pond and a brief Levada dos Balcões walk. Afterwards, we navigated our way to one of Madeira’s highest points, Pico do Arieiro at 1810 m. We then visited Câmara de Lobos and made our way to Cabo Girão, renowned for its elevated glass platform at 580m, followed by visits to Ribeira Brava and Ponta de Sol. In Porto Moniz, our guests relished their food and admired the natural pools. On our return to Funchal, we stopped by Véu da Noiva (lookout point) and took the São Vicente route back to Funchal.
