Less crowded alternative for 25 Fontes Falls - Sarah recommended as this trip during Pico Areeiro to Pico Ruivo hike. It was much less crowded, with beautiful views and nice swim in the lagoon under the waterfall. Big plus was that most of the hike is under the shadow which in mid-July is huge relief 🙂 Great tour, great guide and wonderful experience! Highly recommended!

Lovely ‘No Lakes in Madeira’ Lakes Walk🤪 - Lovely walk with our guide Sara & a great group of fellow walkers. The weather was wet at times which was a shame but not unexpected - it’s why Madeira is so beautiful after all. There are no lakes in Madeira despite the name of this walk but lots of stunning waterfalls & pools. The views were stunning and as befits a ‘moderate’ level walk there were some challenging sections - notably some steep & slippery descents. We all made it with ‘remember baby steps’ advice echoing from Sara!! Finished with a welcome beer/coffee/poncha stop with new found friends. Great day👍

Amazing landscape with breathtaking views - My wife and I did 4 tours with Lido tours, we had the same driver who was very responsible and experienced, we felt very safe with him . Our guide Sara was very knowledgeable, fun and kind with all the group, safety was her priority and we appreciate it.-thanks Sara-. The Van is for max 16 people which is good .The views were scenic and we learnt a lot of the fauna and flora in Madeira. Hands down one of our best trips! We will come back and do the rest of the tours soon.

Beautiful walk - Beautiful walk with some steep steps in sections, but the guide was patient with those who wanted a slower pace and plenty of stops for photos. Leanna was an excellent guide. We stopped at two lakes, the second of which we could swim in if we wanted...although the water is COLD! Only criticism is the lunch stop doesn't really give enough time to eat and swim. Be aware, this isn't a quiet section of the levadas - there were loads of people walking the same paths.

DO NOT DO IT - Moderate??? No way is this moderate. The first kilometre is easy but then it changes. We were told when we bought the tour (kiosk by the main church) that there were next to no steps (stairs etc) on this walk…there’s over 4000 of them, our guide told us. It is a beautiful walk but we would not have done it if they had of been truthful. I do not think that the sellers in the offices have ever done any of the Levada Walks so take their advice with a grain of salt. There are some very difficult inclines and declines that are very steep. They also don’t tell you that the last 1.7 kilometres is up a very steep road. There is an optional ride up this last 1.7 Kilm that you can pay €3 for. They don’t tell you about this optional ride up because it’s not part of Lido Tours. Our guide Jose was good at explaining the various fauna we were seeing but overall he was very negative on his attitude toward the changing times in Madeira from Religion to immigration to tourism. Overall a poor experience. We had bought another 3 walks and a tour from lido but because of their inability to be truthful and poor attitude we cancelled all of them for a refund. We will book from someone else.

This levada was boring not much views to see, not many landscapes, and nope no swimming in lakes as some may expect after reading description of this trip. Moreover trip back to Funchal was terrible and long, we were the last to drop off even when our hotel was the first on the way back, we were driving around city of Funchal in very bad conditions before we finnaly got back from that terrible trip. I do not recommend this levada trip! To prove my bad experience I attached some screens.</p>
