A real hidden gem - We went on a fantastic and thoughtful little tour led by Chris. The distillery has a great atmosphere, all the people were relaxed and kind, and the tour itself was interesting. And they were very forthcoming with the samples - wow!

Excellent whisky tour - This was a fantastic tour with the history of whisky in Scotland and the specifics of distilling at Holyrood. A good mix of technical info and fun tasting experience. Great if you are new to whisky or have toured other distilleries before. Other “tours” are just a tourist-focused tasting. This is the real deal.

Highly recommended Hollyrood distillery tour - A day in Edinburgh is not complete without a visit to the Holyrood distillery. We took the 1 hour tour and it was really enjoyable. I have done similar tours in the past but this really stood out. Bryce, our host, was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they are producing. The facility is located in an historic building that was quite beautiful. We were able to sample their signature gin and whiskey, and the tour ended in their cozy bar where you can hang out and purchase additional drinks and chat with the staff. All in all a really fun couple of hours. I am normally a tough critic and don’t write reviews often, but this was worthy of a great review.

Worth experiencing - Amazing walk through a modern distillery in the heart of Edinburgh. Samples of their whisky and gin were not enough for me, so I stayed at their bar after the tour!

A eye opener - Excellent tour learned so much about whiskey that I never knew tour guide was first class. With his knowledge and explanation of the whole process and the tasting well worth the visit if you like whiskey

Interesting and fun - Such an interesting tour! The premises are beautiful - and smell amazing! - and Marco is a great host. Friendly, knowledgeable and full of passion and fascinating insights. This tour was a pleasure from start to finish.

Great first whisky tour - We had a very Whisky passionate tour guide, who explained everything clearly (even to Whisky-Newbies). We really enjoyed it. The tour itself went through the distillery and different rooms that were prepped to explain the different steps and the effect the ingredients have on the whiskey.

I would love to work here! - Neil gave us a superb tour experience. He was passionate and knowledgeable without being overwhelming. We learnt so much about this young distillery and by the end I wanted to work there too!! Highly recommend the tour, the whisky, and the gin!

Interesting Young Gin n Whisky Distillery - A polished and well presented tour. Certainly provided a good understanding of the processes of making gin & malt whisky. I have to say their whisky(2 options at the moment) didn’t hit the spot for me, my preference being something like Isle of Jura. TOP TIP : With a group of 2 or 3, one should order the enhanced tour, which provides 4 extra tastings at the end of the tour. These can easily be shared (small sip) between 2 or 3.

Moderately interesting tour - We booked the tour to get an impression of how whisky is made and to taste different types of whisky. Unfortunately, our tour guide was very inexperienced and spoke in a quiet voice. Due to the background noise - the tour took place during ongoing operations - it was difficult to understand. It would make more sense to provide headsets here. At the beginning there was a small cocktail that tasted very good. Then a gin that I personally didn't like. The whisky was still very young because the distillery has only existed since 2019. There was a very smoky whisky to sample, which was not to my taste either. All in all, we would have expected a little more for the money and were disappointed.
