Additional Information

On this self-guided audio tour, you’ll meet the movers and shakers behind Geneva’s Red Cross and the Protestant Reformation. Join producer Ariel Peter Haemmerlé - a certified Geneva tourist guide - as you explore Geneva’s old town.

You’ll embark on a journey to bygone Geneva and discover how a small city left a surprisingly large footprint in the fields of ethics, politics, history and science. On this walking tour, you’ll stroll through the cobbled streets to hear stories that began over 2,000 years ago and others that take us to the present day. Pierre will tell you who founded the city, what role the Celts and the Romans had in its formation, and who the Burgundians were.

You’ll learn about the Protestant Reformation, the Swiss Confederation, and the founding of the Red Cross and the Geneva Conventions.

Come along and explore Geneva’s beautiful, storied corners as you retrace its journey to becoming one of the world’s smallest cities with global significance.

Great overview of Geneva at our own pace. - We loved the GPS technology, and the narrator was excellent. We learned so much about the area, which greatly enriched our experience.
