Great day trip to Chamonix from Geneva - It was a very good guided trip. Our guide Antonio was very good and he made sure all of us were on time and he waited for us at the train station as well as the gondola. The visit was very nice. There was some cloud cover, but or experience was wonderful. Views were very good.

Cable car ticket not included - The most important part one needs to be aware before booking this trip is that the cable car tickets are not included in the price. Only mountain train ticket which is only about €19. The cable car tickets are €54. So it does seem quite expensive for a 45 mins round trip in a coach to and fro from Chamonix and mountain train costing almost €150. The trip itself was very well organised and the guide Chris was funny and knowledgeable. Chamonix, cable car trip to the top was breathtaking. So was the mountain train trip. We are very pleased we did everything but would have been happier if we knew what we were paying for.

Lovely Chamonix and Mont Blanc - We enjoyed the full day trip to Chamonix with Key Tours and our guide Kris. The 1.5 hour journey from Geneva to Chamonix was in a very comfortable brand new glass top bus. When we arrived, the group was given tickets and direction on taking the cable car to Aiguille du Midi. As others have mentioned, the guide does not have you follow him around all day while he imparts his wisdom. (But you could do that, as it seemed he was always nearby and we had nice conversation with him a few times throughout the day.) After two cable car rides and then an elevator ride, we reached the highest point. The weather the day we visited was absolutely beautiful, but it was still quite chilly at the top. All worth it for the stunning views! What was probably not worth it, however, was waiting in line for the glass box. You're allowed only a short time inside the box while an employee takes your photo, so you don't get to really experience the 360 view and if it's cloudy, you won't see much at all. It is probably better to just take in the views on the various platforms and then go back to the village for lunch. After lunch was the scenic train ride to visit the ice cave. There is another cable car ride to get to the ice cave and again, the views for this part of the tour are amazing. But be ready for the steps going back up from the ice cave! Our visit was on a Sunday, so perhaps wait times were longer, but I do wish we had had more time to explore Chamonix. Overall, since we only had one day to visit, I am very pleased we opted for the tour versus trying to coordinate everything ourselves.

Highly recommended excursion - Long day (just over 10 hours) but well worth it. We had a completely full coach to Chamonix (stunning resort town), which is not ideal for those at the end of the line as many families had to split up and sit with strangers. The bus ride is only 1.5 hours though and the ride through the alps is stunning. Once in Chamonix, the entire group packs into a gondola (I mean PACKS) and goes up halfway then into another gondola to the summit. If you are Claustrophobic, you may struggle with the gondola rides. At the top though, it is stunning with several platforms and levels to walk around and explore the scenery. It’s windy and icy up there. Wear good shoes and bring a jacket. Back down in the resort area, it was very warm so layering is recommended in summer months. After free time for lunch, we rode the train up to the glacier (once again, packed in tightly) and had the option to take a cable car to the ice cave (highly recommend), just know that once you leave the ice cave, it’s 177 steps back up to the cable car. After another hour, we packed back into the bus and made our way back to Geneva. Overall, very nice excursion.

Fine - I would have liked to have learned more about the history on the trip. I also was a bit taken back to realize the impact of the ice cave “feature” on the environment. I would not recommend it
