Great class - I really enjoyed this cooking course and feel there were things I would try again at home. It was good to visit the market and get an insight into a local family home.

Fun, friendly and authentic cooking experience - Authentic, well planned, friendly and fun Bali cooking experience. We went on a trip to a local market to learn about the key ingredients and then headed to the cookery school to prepare a range of authentic dishes for our lunch. A great family activity and we also got an insight into Bali family life and culture.

Selamat makan - We were picked up from our hotel and headed to the local market in Ubud. We didn't buy the ingredients for the course because the market is open from 3 a.m. to 10 a.m. (Putu did it at 4 a.m.). Welcomed with a refreshing drink, we were able to make an offering then we began the cooking class. There were only 5 of us, which was very nice. The dishes were good and plentiful. Finally we were taken back to our hotel at the beginning of the afternoon with the recipes which they took care to print in our language. We recommend this immersion in Balinese cuisine.

Excellent course - I had a great time with Gus and his family. A course that allows you to discover cooking but also to enter a Balinese house and learn how it works. Thanks again Gus!

Fun afternoon, delicious food! - Had a great afternoon out with Gus. Started with coffee and tea tasting at a plantation overlooking the rice fields. Then off to the family home to cook up a delicious 8-course Balinese dinner. Very fun and hands on class, learnt lots and got to take recipes home to try cook back in Australia :D

Fun class in friendly environment - The class was very nice. They offer to pick you up in Ubud but since we were a little bit far away from the centre, we had to go by ourselves. The class starts with a short visit to a local market, although not for buying food since they basically use home made and home grown ingredients. The class happens in the family’s traditional house which is beautiful. Before the class they explain you the architecture of a traditional house, their habits and traditions and this part is qui te nice. During the class you prepare several dishes and you get to collaborate in preparing each of them although you don’t necessarily do all the steps. Nevertheless you get a general idea of how the meals are prepared. In the class you are divided in pairs and each pair does the main steps. In the end, everyone shares the meal. The environment is friendly.

Cooking class with a personal touch but not enough cooking - We were picked up, taken to the market for a short while with a few explanations, although the shopping itself had already been done, then we were brought to the house, where cooking took place in the outdoor kitchen. Everyone was very nice. There were 7 of us, a pleasant group size. Unfortunately, 4 had planned a follow-up activity, which made it quite stressful and not everyone cooked everything, but one quickly cooked this and the other the other, so that everything was ready quickly. I was looking forward to cooking the individual dishes, which is probably usually the plan, but we didn't do it - a shame for a cooking course... We got the recipes in paper form (I would have preferred them as a PDF) and then we were taken home. The dishes themselves were delicious
