Highlights
  • Pyramids of Giza - your guide will pick you up from the port holding a sign showing your name then you will go ahead to The pyramids of Giza and the Great Sphinx which are among the most popular tourist destinations in the world, and indeed already were even in Roman times. Each of these spectacular structures served as the final resting place of a king of the 4th Dynasty (c.2613–2494 BC). The Great Pyramid of Giza was built for king Khufu (c.2589–2566 BC), and the other two for Khafre and Menkaure, his son and grandson. Khufu’s pyramid is both the oldest and largest of the three, and the first building to exceed it in height would not be built for another 3,800 years! then Visit the Valley Temple where the Priests Mummified the dead body of King Chephre. - Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - The Great Pyramid of Giza is a defining symbol of Egypt and the last of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World. It is located on the Giza plateau near the modern city of Cairo and was built over a twenty-year period during the reign of the king Khufu (2589-2566 BCE, also known as Cheops) of the 4th Dynasty. - Khafre’s Pyramid - The second largest pyramid at Giza and in Egypt was built for Khafre, the third pharaoh of the 4th Dynasty during the Old Kingdom Period of Ancient Egypt around 2540 BC. Khafre, also known in history by the Greek name Chephren, was the son of Khufu, who is the Great Pyramid and the grandson of Sneferu, another great builder of Ancient Egypt. - Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid chambers are more complicated than those of Khafre and include a chamber carved with decorative panels and another chamber with six large niches. The burial chamber is lined with massive granite blocks. His black stone sarcophagus, also carved with niched panels, was discovered inside, but was lost at sea in 1838 as it was being transported to England - Great Sphinx - one of the most amazing places you can visit and take beautiful photos there .It is mythological creature with a lion’s body and a human head, an important image in Egyptian and Greek art and legend. - The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities - then you wil visit the Egyptian Museum in Cairo (EMC) which is the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East, housing over 170,000 artefacts. It has the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. The Museum’s exhibits span the Pre-Dynastic Period till the Graeco-Roman Era (c. 5500 BC - AD 364). - Khan Al-Khalili - Originally built on the site of an old mausoleum, local and foreign merchants have been trading at Khan el-Khalili souk since the 14th century. It is Egypt’s most famous market. - Mosque of Amr Ibn Al-As - Construction of the Mosque of Amr Ibn al-As was started in 642 AD and is largely believed to be the location of the site where General Amr ibn al-As had is tent when he conquered Egypt in that same year. Because virtually nothing from the original structure remains today, it is difficult to verify the actual dates of the construction. However, the tomb in which the general’s son was laid to rest is located in one corner of the mosque, and this discovery has in turn allowed researchers to validate the original age of the mosque
