Additional Information

Nature, Blossoms, Scent, and Medieval Ambiance!

Join us for a delightful excursion on our ‘ Essence of Provence ‘ tour.

We will first explore ‘Loup Riven’ with its captivating waterfalls, leading us to the quaint town of Gourdon, nestled in the pastoral setting of the French Riviera. Gourdon’s rich prehistoric heritage and abundant historic landmarks make it worthy of exploration.

Our journey continues to Tourrettes sur Loup, an enticing sight among a chain of ‘Perched villages’ that grace the area between the southern Alps and the Esterel massif, which fringes the sea between Cannes and Saint Raphael. Tourrettes sur Loup, with its charming old Provençal vibe, is a favorite among travelers.

Our destination then shifts to Grasse, a town acclaimed as one of the global hubs of perfume production. All through the year, the town basks in the ethereal aromas of mimosa, lavender, rose, violet, and jasmine blended with the scent of orange blossom, lending it a vibrant and unique character.

Cap off your tour with a visit to Grasse’s esteemed perfume factory, Fragonard, where you can observe the art of perfume-making during a guided tour.

How perfume is made - We spent quite awhile driving through the countryside - I had never been there before so that was interesting. Our destination was a perfume factory - we had about an hour tour and explanation about how perfume is made. Being able to get picked up at the port and returned to the port was great - not all tours do this, and if they don't, it really complicates things. Our tour started late and was shorter than it was supposed to be - not the tour operator's fault. Our ship docked off shore - which meant we had to use a tender to embark. We lined up for the tender 90 minutes before we needed to meet our tour guide - and we were still an hour late to begin. Our guide had another obligation so he wasn't able to give us the whole tour. It was disappointing - very expensive for what we received.
