Good Experience but Felt Short - Well organized trip with friendly guides/drivers. The 1-day Gilbraltar tour was entertaining. 2 hour drive from Malaga to Gilbraltar border. Quick border crossing and the bus tour began. We stopped at St. Michael's cave for 40 minutes or so. When you get to the auditorium inside the cave you are only a couple of minutes away from the bus, so feel free to relax and enjoy the light show a little longer. There is a souvenir shop as yiu exit the cave. You might want to grab something in case there's no time afterwards. We also stopped at a point or two with great views along the way for 10 minutes or so for photos. The bus dropped us off at the starting point (garage) and had 1 hour of free time. You can walk back to our meeting/departure point or take the public bus to the border. The departure point was at a chain restaurant in the Spanish side of the border at 3:30pm. It took me 30 minutes or so to find my way back so I had no time to do much else. We got back to Malaga around 6pm after hitting traffic in Marbella.

You deserve better. - Gibralter is a fascinating place. And I recommend you see it. However, for the price, the ride there (three hours each way), the short time there (the “tour” lasted less than 90 minutes) and the rushed, impersonal, even brusque experience we had with our guide, Clive, made this a less than ideal day. At the end of the tour, Clive dropped us off and asked for payment. We explained we’d already paid. He gave us directions for shopping, dining, and getting back to the port of entry (take the #10 bus, a taxi, or walk this direction). Our driver, Gonzolo was delightful. He pointed out various towns and cities and was engaging and friendly. Gibralter is a fascinating place. Clive pointed our things to see. He seemed thorough and “on script.” But for this price, you deserve a better experience.
