Highlights
  • Antelope Island - Combine your trip to the Great Salt Lake with what I consider the only way to visit it by experiencing Antelope Island. This little known island is teaming with wildlife, and you can’t get the quiet of wilderness by simply visiting it near I-80. We will spot for the wild herd of 600 American Bison roaming the island. Amongst the Bison we’ll watch for coyote, bobcat, antelope, porcupine, big-horn sheep, mule deer and if the season is right up to 200,000 migratory birds. You can truly experience Nature in its finest form on this beautiful island. After wildlife spotting, we’ll hike to Buffalo Point on the Island to watch the sunset and take in the breathtaking views.

*Bug Season (April-June)
We have bug spray for the mosquitos, and hats/bug nets for the biting gnats. Midges do not bite.

The Hike is .9 miles round trip. It has a couple steep parts on dirt, but it’s very well traveled. I would designate this as a moderate hiking difficulty, which is less than a mile.

The Tour Vehicle is a 10 Passenger Ford Transit Passenger Van with a High Roof and really great large windows in the back for viewing.

A Beautiful View of a Unique and Magical Place - It was great to be picked up directly at our hotel. We had a very informative tour of Antelope Island and the wildlife. We saw bison pretty close but not so close as to disturb them. The best part was the walk up a hill for an amazing view of the sun setting over the Salt Lake landscape. Our guide was so personable that it felt like a group of friends having fun even though we had just met for the tour.

Beyond beautiful wildlife - Great time! Our tour guide had all the supplies we could ever need and was very knowledgeable. It was a fun few hours away from our busy lives. I now appreciate more what conservationists are working so hard to protect.

Utah sunset at its best! - This was a great tour to experience. I totally missed the info on the hiking part but it was totally doable even with a knee that has not fully recovered from an injury. Cramon, our guide, was so attentive. He even took great pics. Without hesitations he offered some help as a couple of us were having difficulties descending the hill. He also managed to keep the bottled water cold (trust me, it's so much better to have cold water than room temp or even warm water from the sun especially after the hike) and he had a tray of snacks ready in the car. A couple pair of binoculars were also available for participants to use during the tour. Sunsets in Utah is definitely something else, and watching it from the top of the hill took it up just a few more notches. If I may have a suggestion is to have a better step stool (a two steps maybe?) to get in and out the van. It's a challenge for shorty like myself and even more so with a recently injured knee.

Fantastic excursion to see animals and the Great Salt Lake! - Garth was full of facts and interesting stories on the animals and land. He had a great eye for spotting many animals including bison, antelope, burrowing owls and even a baby coyote. Hiking to watch the sunset was a highlight.

Summer 2024 - I’m very glad we had an opportunity to see the Sunset tour on Antelope Island. My grandkids loved it. We saw the wildlife; we hiked the mountain and watched the sun go down. The tour guide was awesome and super patient with my 11 year old, 9 year old, and 7 year old, who had the most questions.

Fun Times - We had a fun time on this tour. We saw bision lots of antelope, a big family of burrowing owls & the sun set over the lake was stunning. Garth was knowledgeable & funny. It was nice that he dropped us each of at our actual hotels so we didnt have to walk in the dark.
