Highlights
  • St. James’s Park - Your regal tour begins at the Duke of York Column, located on St. James’, where you’ll greet your guide and embark on a walking tour of London’s royal monuments.

During the stroll to your first site, your guide provides history-rich commentary that offers insight into the British monarchy’s illustrious reign. Stop at St. James’ Palace, which has played host to iconic royals including Princess Diana and Anne Boleyn, before you continue into St. James’ Park — a green lung formerly home to the Royal Zoo.

Stroll down The Mall, designed to represent a giant red carpet leading to Buckingham Palace, and pass by the home of Princes Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall, Clarence House.

  • Buckingham Palace - Then, approach the gates of Buckingham Palace, arguably the world’s most famous royal residence. Open for only two months a year, the opportunity to visit the State Apartments is a rare and exciting experience.

With an audio guide to direct your exploration, you’ll delve into the lavish chambers of the British Monarchy: marvel at the opulent décor and admire rooms swathed in sumptuous upholstery, chandeliers, and priceless art. See, too, important pieces from the royal collection such as Sèvres porcelain and some of the finest English and French furniture in the world.

Buckingham palace - Lucia was guide. Couple of times difficult to understand. Very long on Diana history. Was more of stop and walk tour than walking tour. Enjoyed the palace.

Great Buckingham tour, but not so great walking tour - The Buckingham part of the tour was fabulous. I highly recommend seeing the state rooms in Buckingham Palace. The audio is extremely well done, very easy to understand, there are individuals in each room to answer questions, and it is very very organized and interesting. Preceding the Buckingham tour is a walking tour. The individual who gave the walking tour had a very, very heavy British accent, and spoke very rapidly. I asked him very quietly if he could please slow down. He said he has so much to say and he didn’t slow down. I understood perhaps 40% of what he said and I am a native English speaking person. It was extremely frustrating. So, if possible, I would recommend only going on the Buckingham tour, perhaps, directly with Buckingham palace and foregoing the walking tour. Unless you’re a Brit, you probably won’t understand more than 40% of what the guy says.

Missed the tour - We got to the Palace at 1:00 but could not find the check in place so we did not take the tour. There were no signs directing us.

Ticket buying process not good - The tour was great. The ticket process was unnecessarily difficult. It would be better to include the ticket in the email confirmation, instead of a voucher.
