History come to life. - Our guide was a WEALTH of knowledge and very personable. Plus, we were blessed to see a “once in a year” parade of cadets, current, and retired military men in their full regalia. Perfect day in a perfect place.

Our tour guide Max was fantastic on knowledge not only about the history in the area but about the making of and history of the food. The selection of restaurants and street food was superb. Good Eats in East London - What a great experience. This is the food tour you want to be on! Our guide, Madeline, had the best personality and was very knowledgeable of the East End history…she blended the two elements seamlessly. Our tour started at Old Spitalfields Market, then meandered through the streets of East Down, including the (in)famous Brick Lane. The area is transitioning into a place with a hip vibe; buzzing with people, culture, and food. Total amount of walking was an easy, and slow paced four miles. Total time of the tour was almost four hours exactly. Our stops along the way included: Vendett:Croque Monsieur (British version of cheese toast - holy moly, sooooo good). We were seated at a table to enjoy the tasting. Water was provided. Swans Bakery: Custard. Eh, this was ok; then again, I’m not a big custard guy. Poppies Fish & Chips: Voted Best in London (maybe England?). I’m not a fan of fish and chip but this fish was light and flavorful. Aladin Indian Restaurant: We had three different curry’s: Vegetable, Tikka Chicken, and Lamb. Surprisingly, the veggie curry was a group favorite but the Lamb curry was my favorite. Great flavor. We were seated at a table to enjoy the tasting. Water was provided. Beigel Bakery: Salted Beef and Beigel w/ thin pickle slices and English mustard. Now this! This was my favorite food on the entire tour. Soft, chewy bagels with a savory beef (not too salty). If you were not on this food tour, you would have to wait up to 75 minutes in a line…Madeline was handing out Beigel (bagels) within five minutes of our arrival. And we finished the tour back at Old Spitalfields Market at Humble Crumble, which apparently has become a social media sensation and had a line out the door, but once again, Madeline had our samples on a tray just minutes after arriving. w We had warm cinnamon apples topped shortbread cookie crumble and piped whipped cream.

Fun foods and witty tour guide - Our tour guide, Issak, introduced us to great historical information and diverse foods on London’s East side. Definitely not an area your average tourist is likely see. I look forward to more of these tours in the future.

Great Food Tour Led by an Excellent Guide - This East End Food Tour, led by Isaac, was a blend of excellent food and history of the area. The diversity of the foods sampled was excellent and all were of high quality. Given that there were six stops on the tour, the quantities were more than sufficient to enjoy the food while not being so much that you would not be able to enjoy the later stops. The pace of the tour was excellent. Isaac was a very knowledgeable and excellent host who enhanced the touring experience far beyond just sampling the delicious food. He is highly recommended as is this truly five-star touring experience.
