Highlights
  • Windsor Castle - Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King.

Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George’s Chapel. The Castle’s State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle’s royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.

Visitors can take a self-guided tour of the Castle with a free multimedia tour. From October to March, visitors can also walk through the sumptuous Semi-State Apartments, which served as the private rooms of George IV in the 19th century.

Book it!! - We had an amazing time exploring the English Countryside! I highly recommend getting out of the city of London and seeing what the UK has to offer. It was beautiful. A lot of comments mention a strict amount of time at the different places and while that is true & you really only have time to see what you are specifically there for .. the guides made sure we had the maximum time allowed to keep us on track with the itinerary & we had a perfect amount of time to see what we were there to see! Highly recommend & we thank our tour guide and bus driver for their time and expertise! (I cannot remember their names for the life of me but our guide also spoke French & was lovely!!)

Good, but watch the caveats - The tour was really good! The guide was lovely and our driver was super nice as responsible. During our tour, the guide gave several historical facts along with TV show facts and shooting location pointers, which has really nice! We had lots of freedom in the Stonehenge and this was really appreciated as it’s a place it’s best discovered by yourself. I highly recommend you booking the option with the Baths ticket included, in our tour, no one did it(40+ people) and while Bath has lots of history and sightseeing, it’s not that incredible, it’s mostly shops. Also please check if Windsor castle is available for your booking dates, it had, according to the guide, a “visit from the king”, and we could not go inside, we had to stroll the nearby area looking at shops. it would’ve been nice if the company warned people who booked this tour in those cases, as most are tourists and are unaware of those situations. Even thought the tour included Windsor tickets in the price, we did not get a refund.

An intense experience - Is a very intense tour, quite a long ride, but it's worth it. We were lucky that was off-season, we imagined that this tour in peak season must be quite exhausting.

Missed the bus. - I am sure it is a great trip, but cannot rate it because we did not go. In order to submit this review, I will give it 3 stars so as not to tip the scales badly for Viator. Tip for all - leave plenty of extra time to find the bus address, maybe take a cab, as a driver would probably have had the savvy to get us to the right spot. We got there in good time via the Tube, but could not find the address given, and were redirected by station employees a couple times, spending our precious time looking for the bus stop. We missed the bus, and the Viator agreement does not allow for refunds on the day of travel. A lost and costly opportunity, and a stressful moment during our vacation.

A nightmare - I do not recommend this experience at all. Although it is ideal to see several sights in one day, this tour fails miserably. You spend most of the day waiting in very long lines and are given very little time to experience anything as it is very rushed. You will have no time to stop for food or drinks. If you are elderly, disabled, or pregnant this is not a good fit. This tour is abusive. You’re better off asking your hotel concierge to book your excursions with a reputable company rather than using these overpriced agencies. Our bus left us behind at the first stop. After the end of our first stop we got lost as this is a self guided tour and your tour guide does not do a good job explaining where to go. We had no way of contacting our tour guide or getting help. Any items we left on the bus we lost and the company does not assist you in getting them back. I was forced to find my own way back in a foreign country.

The worst tour! - The worst tour I've been on in years, terrible. The tour started in Windsor where we spent 20 minutes outside the palace gates instead of queuing to enter the castle, which lasted 50 minutes, so we didn't get to see anything inside, only spent 30 minutes there, a disaster. Then came Stonehenge, literally we were 3 minutes at the monument; the rest of the hour and 15 minutes we were in a queue to board the shuttle bus to the monument. In Bath, we were 20 minutes inside the museum and 30 waiting outside, they told us to be ready at the pickup point by 5:20, we waited 20 more minutes for the driver to arrive, in the end, we boarded the bus at 5:40, we didn't get to see absolutely anything. The tour driver, John, was awful, arrogant, and with very poor treatment, on more than one occasion he exceeded the speed limit and made risky overtakes, even in the rain. And as a final point, we had no time to eat. I want to ask for my money back, I feel like this tour is a big scam, we paid to be exactly 30 minutes in Windsor, 3 minutes in Stonehenge, and 20 minutes in Bath. It's ridiculous.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - Discriminatory Treatment: Our brief tardiness, due to unavoidable circumstances with young children and elderly relatives, was met with suspicion and hostility, suggesting discriminatory behavior on the part of the tour guide. The rigid scheduling, which prioritized mealtime over sightseeing, left us unable to enjoy the tour and catered poorly to the needs of young children.

Buyer Beware - Arrived 10 minutes before tour started, wasn’t allowed on the bus. We were told that we needed to be there 30 minutes before tour starts to board. We had no carry-on, just us. We literally stood there and watched the bus drive away without us. We went back in the terminal and immediately contacted the tour operator. We were told no refunds, no rescheduling. We have done business with Viator for many, many years. Have spent thousands of dollars through them. Y’all just lost our business.
