This tour is suitable for all skill levels, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced rider. For the well-being of the horses, a weight limit of 220lbs per rider is enforced. Your personal guide will lead you through natural landscapes, ensuring your comfort and sharing insights about the area. For those interested, there’s an optional opportunity to ride your horse into the ocean, provided sea conditions are calm. However, this may be affected by Sargassum seaweed, a natural occurrence in the Caribbean since 2011, which varies with the tide. As an outdoor activity, be prepared for possible rain during the tour. If dangerous weather is forecasted, we will contact you to reschedule. Your guide will provide water and take as many photos as you’d like. St. Lucia’s climate includes a rainy season (June to December) with wet conditions, and a dry season (January to May) with drier trails but less greenery.

One of the tour’s highlights is the option to ride your horse into the ocean, provided sea conditions are favorable—a thrilling and unforgettable experience. Unlike crowded tours, this experience is free from large groups and long lines, making it perfect for travelers who prefer to avoid the crowds and connect more deeply with nature.
- All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Weight limit of 220lbs / 99kgs / 15st applies.
- Sometimes seaweed and sea conditions may prevent a swim with the horses.
- We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.
- Not recommended for travelers that have recently had surgery.

We are located on Beach Drive opposite the East Gate of the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Beausejour. Take the first right and head on up the forest road which is a short hill. It's just 90 meters to the top. There is parking space available both at the top and bottom of the hill.

Fantastic bucket list experience - horseback riding on the beach! - A beach canter and getting into the sea bareback on horses has always been on my (and one of my daughters') bucket list. Sandy Hoofs delivered beautifully, with a lovely canter along the beach, a refreshing swim/ride with the horses, and some fresh coconuts to drink from for good measure. It was an absolutely perfect outing, and our guides clearly loved the horses and made sure they got a good roll in the sand and cooling off (with us!) in the water.
The horses were obviously well-cared for, and the owners take pride in this - our mounts were energetic yet well-behaved, and we felt they enjoyed the trip as much as we did. With resort pick-up and the horses ready and tacked up for us as soon as we arrived, we got a lot of beach time.
Thanks for the lovely memories (and great photos taken by our guides!) - it was the ultimate gift for my eldest daughter's birthday!

Can't recommend Sandy Hoofs Stables enough. The beautiful horses are clearly loved and looked after well, and the ride we had was incredible.
Stunning coastal scenery, and of course riding on the beach and having a swim with the horses was a memory of a lifetime.

Best Horse back riding. - It was an amazing experience. I've only rode a horse once. Our guides Tevon and Malic were fantastic and very patient. I would definitely go again.

Amazing 1st time experience - Love the time spent with my horses, Cosco, and my tour guide. It was my first time riding and everything went super well, plus Cosco was behaving very well. The ride on the beach was great and also bringing Cosco to the sea was an amazing experience. Totally reccomend it

Dream of a Life Time - My husband and I went through Sandy Hoofs for a private horseback ride. The owners Keri and Josh are such an amazing couple and have an amazing team. It was a two hour ride, which included going on a trail into the mountains which followed by the horses swimming in the ocean with us! The owners have two dogs (Bigow and Tyson) and they actually followed us on the trail the whole time. They were very well behaved dogs and the horses (Costo and Toivo) were excellent as well. The guide we had was amazing and he stayed with us the whole time, but also made it feel like it was private with just my husband and I. His name was Acem. He climbed a coconut tree at the end of our journey, and got two coconuts for my husband and I to enjoy at the owners stable. Definitely would recommend this to any of my family or friends! 10/10!! My husband and I will be back for sure in the future! (:

Not worth the hassle. - I booked my ride days in advance of my trip. I had every expectation of enjoying a wonderful horseback ride with my wife on a private beach on a beautiful tropical island! Fantastic, right? I get a call 90 min before my scheduled ride in the day of, and am told that I (at 240lbs) exceed the weight! When I entered my weight online there was no validation, no red flags. I am told that the weight restriction exists in the additional info section of the online form. I did not see this. If it’s there, great! Where is the validation when the weight is entered? You validate my credit card, my zip code, even validate the dates and times I chose, but you don’t validate the weight? Lastly, 90 min before the ride you cancel on me? How about when I booked the ride or at least the next day!?!!! Customer service at this place leaves a lot to be desired.
My recommendation: Skip these online booking services, book with the locals or your resort/hotel for the better experience.
