  • Museo Miraflores - This modern museum houses all the significant artifacts that make up the history and city of Kaminaljuyu. Get ready to learn about the Maya civilization.
  • Plaza de la Constitucion - The tour continues with a walk around the Plaza de la Constitución, offering a closer look and detailed explanation of the historical buildings that surround it.

  • Catedral Metropolitana - The next stop is the Metropolitan Cathedral, where you can observe some damage from the earthquakes that struck Guatemala City in 1917 and 1918. This is the most important church in Guatemala, featuring old paintings from the 16th century and the oldest virgin brought by the Spanish conquerors in the 15th century. Its neoclassical architecture will leave you in awe!

  • Paseo de la Sexta - A walk through the famous avenue of Guatemala City is a must! La Sexta is a pedestrian avenue where you can experience the daily life of the locals. During this walk, you’ll see the architecture of historical buildings, vibrant commerce, and various restaurants or food courts. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.
  • Relief Map - The Relief Map is an exact scale model of all the places that make up Guatemala and Belize. It showcases the volcanic chain, various lakes, beaches, and Maya cities.
  • Cerrito del Carmen - At the top of the hill is the oldest church in Guatemala City, founded 150 years before the city itself, called Santuario Nuestra Señora del Carmen. Its mystical and mysterious story will intrigue you, as will the view you can appreciate from there.

Guatemala City SAFE to tour. A gem. - Pleasant friendly guide. Modified the tour to our needs and wants. Fourth time in Guatemala. Had avoided the city due to stories of violence and safety. 8 hour tour became 10. So much more to see.Strongly recommend tour!!

Perfect way to see the highlights in a day - We had Pamella as our guide and I cannot recommend her more. She was knowledgeable about each site we visited and happy to throw in a few drive by visits so we could see Zone 4 and a friend’s bookshop. She is a great guide and a fabulous driver (which is important on a driving tour). 10/10

Highly recommend! - My wife and I had an extra day to spend in Guatemala City and we wanted a more personalized tour of the city. Esteban was a superior guide and took us to so many places that would have been impossible to do on our own in one day. We really enjoyed getting to know him and not only did he provide good information about the tour sites, but also insights into living in GC that only a native-born person could share. Thoroughly enjoyed eating Pepian at lunch in the market. Esteban introduced me to Hibiscus juice which is wonderfully sweet. I needed to replace my lost phone charger and he stopped by an electronics store to help me purchase that. It was a day well spent and great value for the price.

Excellent tour for the curious - We had a wonderful day with Esteban. He was sure to communicate with us the day before to make sure that pickup was confirmed. He arrived in time and his car was clean and comfortable. Esteban is extremely well-versed in Guatemalan history and culture and not only was able to tell us about each place we visited but also was sure to point out all the interesting landmarks as we drove around the city. Since we were here during Semana Santa, he was able to coordinate watching one of the city’s many religious processions which would have been pretty overwhelming if we had tried to navigate it alone. Beyond his knowledge and professionalism, Esteban is just a really nice guy. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in Guatemalan history and culture and doesn’t have a lot of time in Guatemala City.

Nice way to see more of Guatemala City - Time well spent. I requested couple museums in lieu of two of the stops that were closed. On time , professional, knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend this tour. Thanks

Excellent way to see a very under-rated city - Guatemala City is very under-rated as a place to see. It would be difficult to navigate this city and see all the sights the city has to offer (and which are horribly under-publicized) without a professional guide. The most important and interesting sights (the anthropology museum, the Relief Map, Kaminal Juyu) are scattered all over the city. Esteban was an excellent guide (and an excellent driver, although, by Latin American standards, Guatemala City would not be a particularly scary place in which to drive). Esteban did an excellent job of improvising and adjusting as the government has closed a few, very important sights (such as the anthropology museum) suddenly, without notice

A little too political - All of the logistics around the tour were perfect -- great communication, easy to book, they even offered a carseat for my daughter. The vehicle was comfortable, wifi worked great, and all of the stops were well-planned and interesting. I've been in Guate for a year, and I saw a ton of new and interesting things. Be prepared that is is a FULL day. We were exhausted by lunchtime. It's also not super kid-friendly, and I wish we'd made other arrangements for my 4 y/o. Usually, she loves this sort of thing, but the bouncing around and quick pace made it hard for her to get into anything. The guide was polite, knowledgeable, and very helpful during the tour. He was flexible when we requested changes to the schedule and could quickly and easily answer our questions about the places we visited. What really turned us off was all the political commentary -- about Guatemalan politics and US politics alike. The guide was very knowledgeable about the sites and their history, but would often diverge to talk about his personal opinions on capitalism, the Trump presidency, and why the Mayan people lack the ability to think logically due to deficiencies in their language (*eyeroll*). I am very liberal, and my sister who traveled with us is very conservative, and we both walked away offended -- no small feat! It made it hard to simply enjoy the history of the places we visited because we weren't sure what was being filtered. I also wish there was more of an emphasis on the STORIES behind the sites, not just the facts. It felt a little dry. It was a nice tour and I would recommend the company as a whole, but I hope the guide sticks to the facts next time.
