Additional Information
The only small group kayak tours in the area. While we do not focus on ponies we aim to provide a hands on eco educational kayak tour where you will learn about nature and the history of the area. As a husband and wife owned and operated business we want you to make memories you and your family will never forget. Fitness level should be moderate as this is a strenuous activity.
- Children must be 12+ to operate a single seated kayak, children 4-11 may only kayak in a double seated kayak with an adult

Great time! - We had a great time! My three friends and I just got back from the sunset tour. Stephen was incredibly knowledgeable about the island and excited to share what he knew. Overall we had a great time together. It was just our group — we loved that we weren’t with a big crowd. Beautiful and I’d highly recommend! Do keep in mind that it is strenuous — the current was a little rough in the main channel but nothing 4 women in their late 20s couldn’t handle.

Awesome time! - This is the 2nd time we went out with Assateague Adventures. Last year was a sunset tour and this year we went out in the morning. They did not disappoint!! We had an awesome time. The guides are very knowledgeable and very personable. Our experience with Assateague Adventures far surpasses other kayaking tours that we've done in the past. Highly recommend.

Great Kayaking in Chincoteague - Great hosts, super knowledgeable, friendly and honest. They were concerned because we wouldn’t see ponies on our say, so they wanted to be up front. The trip was still fantastic, saw some birds, but learned history and enjoyed our trip!.
We will do it again…. ❤️🚣

Excellent Outdoor Experience - We had such a blast with Steve, Jess, and Shane! They were fantastic guides who really know the wildlife and history of Chincoteague. They were also really helpful to my novice kayaker husband. While we didn't get close to the ponies, we saw bald eagles, many types of shore birds, and diamondback terrapins. I'd definitely do this tour again if I return to Chincoteague.

Awesome sunset kayak tour - Enjoyed a wonderful sunset kayak tour with Jess, Steve and Shane! Small group made it easy to listen to all of the great info they shared, and they knew our names by the end of the trip. Super knowledgeable and showed us crabs, how to collect clams and oysters (we even took some home to cook) and gave info on all the birds in the area.
Also got to see 3 bald eagles. Would highly recommend it!!

Fantastic Kayak tour - A fantastic Kayak tour. The guides, Jess and Steve were knowledgeable and helped with kayaking tips. We saw ponies and wildlife. Jess is great at identifying shore birds. I would definitley recommend this tour. It does involve two hours of paddling, but was very manageable for the two of us who are in our 60's.

A Splash of Family Fun - Steve and Jess are super friendly and knowledgeable kayak guides. Our family enjoyed the morning tour and loved seeing the horses close-up. Highly recommended for outdoor savvy families with kids!!

Best Tour for Ponies! - We had a fantastic trip this morning. We were able to kayak right up to 2 different herds, seeing the ponies closer than any boat tour could get us! It was amazing to see, and the trip was 100% the best thing we did during our visit. The owners were super friendly and helpful, great guides. We will definitely be back!

Great day in the marshes - Maneuvering through the marshes was tough, but rewarding! Steve & Jess were very forgiving of this newbie. They were helpful & informative. Highly recommend!

Booking issues - We booked a two hour tour starting at 6:00 pm til 8:00 pm. We went to the pier at 5:45 pm. waiting and we didn't see anybody. We got in touch with someone who's in charge of the tour and we were told that the kayak tour left at 5:30 pm. Trip Advisor had one time and Assateague Adventures another time. We rescheduled the tour for the next day and there were mechanical issues with their truck. Well, maybe next time
