Interesting Experience - Getting to the place requires some logistics, and having our guide take care of all of them, is a clear benefit, In addition, there are some explanations about rice growing and about the place. Unfortunately, we were not able to communicate with the local ethnic group. Our guide, was very open to share stories and answer questions about his life and the life of his friends and family, so we could get an insight to life in this region.

Such an incredible experience. We... -
Such an incredible experience. We booked this tour the day before we left and Sue was incredible at communicating with us prior to our departure. We received an e-mail with hotel pick up information and Sue called us that evening to confirm our pick-up time as well give us tips on what to bring with. It was going to be chillier as we were visiting at the end of November and suggested we bring layers and an umbrella for potential rain. In just under 2 hours we arrived at the Longji Rice Terraces where Sue took us along a hike through the Terraces providing history and pointing out details. We stopped at grabbed lunch at one of the local restaurants with some of the most delicious food we ate during our entire trip in China. We were sad to have missed the actual rice growing in the Terraces as Sue reported that it is harvested in late October during this cycle of growing, but the views were still breathtaking. The whole experience was seamless and easy. Would HIGHLY Recommend. If you have the opportunity to book with Sue I would highly suggest her! She had such enthusiasm, knowledge, and excitement for what she does! Thanks so much Sue!!!

Went to Ancient Chuang village... -
Went to Ancient Chuang village, (open to tourism for 1yr vs Ping'an village, which opened 10 yrs ago). Was the most peaceful and quiet part of our China trip. Took 2h 15m to drive each way from our hotel (Guilin Bravo) and our guide Ocsar, was very knowledgeable. Great lunch, fresh bamboo, bamboo rice!

Longji Rice Terraces - Our guide, John, was really good. It was a rainy and foggy day, unfortunately, and we didn't have a good view of the terraces. It was still nice to have seen a glimpse of it. Hike up is 45 mins, not too hard. Had a nice local lunch in a village restaurant on the hike down.

The tour was really beautiful. It is... -
The tour was really beautiful. It is a fairly long drive through the countryside. But this way you can have a look at the non-touristy life in China. At the beginning of the drive our guide provided us with the information about Guilin and the nature and people we were about to see.
At the park itself there was only one stop at a village of one minority people. We did not stop at the Yao village and did not see the dancing and music. But for us this wasn't a problem. On the hike up to the view point our guide paid close attention to our abilities and stopped for a break when we needed it it's not easy climbing in the heat and humidity. She also let two of us head further up while she waited at the first viewpoint with the those not wanting to climb further. The more private talk there was very enjoyable.
After the visit of the rice fields we had the option of driving to some factories or shops. I liked the fact that she wasn't aggressive of getting us there. We weren't interested and so she just had us brought back to the hotel.
So all in all it is a long drive for a shortish hike up the mountain to some marvelous views. Well worth it.
