HA GIANG - QUAN BA - YEN MINH - DONG VAN

Ha Giang Province - Tour guide picks you up at homestay or motel and prepares for beginning of the excursion with Ha Giang karst plateau. You will visit:

✔ Km0 milestone in Ha Giang city.

✔ Bac Sum pass, the first pass when you go into the Dong Van Karst Plateau area.
✔ Next stop is Quan Ba Sky Gate. Enjoy your time here seeing the beauty of Bosom Mountain and all Tam Son Town from the higher place.
✔ Visit Lung Tam weaving village and explore the production stages to make brocade (Note: This place may not visit depending the weather or road quality)
✔ Take a picture with a lonely Lumber tree.
✔ Tham Ma pass where people used to test the power of horses before.

Dong Van - Noon: Have lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you will visit:
✔ Pho Cao (Fox street) for watching the unique house of H’Mong people, with the rock fence bounding it (you can also take pictures with Peach Blossoms and Plum Blossoms at Tet holiday, and visit Pho Cao Market on Day of the Dog and Day of the Dragon).

✔ Sung La village, visit Hmong Ancient house - the place where the film “Story of Pao” was produced in 2006.
✔ Visit to the King family mansion lying inside a valley of Sa Phin. This is the wealthiest and most powerful family of Dong Van in the early 20th century.

18.00: Arrive at Dong Van town. Check in hotel and rest
19.00: Have dinner. You can free for a walk to discover Dong Van old quarter at night or have a cup of coffee (paid by yourself) at the most favorite Café in Dong Van named & Café Phố Cổ; or try many kinds of food in Dong Van. Overnight at Dong Van town.

Quan Ba Heaven Gate - The Quan Ba Heaven Gate is one of the five most famous Heaven’s Gates in Vietnam in addition to the Anh Giang Heaven Gate (Cao Bang), O Quy Ho Heaven Gate (Sapa), Linh Quy Phap An Heaven Gate (Da Lat), Nghinh Phong Heaven Gate (Vung Tau). Located at the entrance to the Dong Van karst plateau, Quan Ba is a must-see destination when arriving in Ha Giang.

The road to Quan Ba Heaven Gate (Ha Giang) is a breathtaking route for backpackers. It is located on National Road 4C, which connects Ha Giang city and Tam Son town. To reach Quan Ba Heaven Gate, from Tam Son, you only have to go further 3km to the north or from Ha Giang city centre, it takes about 1 hour to drive 46 km.

Viewpoint dốc Thẩm Mã (trên) - The Tham Ma Pass is an iconic s-shaped mountain pass in the mountain region of Ha Giang. It is part of the Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark and one of the most impressive mountain passes in Vietnam.

n the past the Tham Ma Pass used by the locals to test their horses. They took their horses up the mountain pass with heavy loads to measure how strong their horses are. If a horse reaches the top of the stride and looks good, they will keep that horse. Otherwise, the horse is slaughtered for Thang Co, a special dish that you can find at every farmer’s market in Ha Giang; it is not recommended to try it.

Pao’s House - The house of a local family in Dong Van District, Ha Giang Province, has become an appealing destination for visitors to the mountainous province after it was used for the film of ‘Pao’s story’. (The Story of Pao). The film later won the Golden Kite of Vietnam Cinematography Association in 2005.

The nearly-seventy-old-year original building has been home to four generations. It originally belonged to a man named Mua Sua Pao. As Pao and his son died at the house in 1979 and 1980, his grandson, Mua Phai Tua, is the heir to the property.

Dinh Vua Meo - The Vuong family mansion, also known as the Meo King mansion, is an ancient mansion with the age of nearly 100 years. This is one of the most unique tourist destinations in Ha Giang that tourists must visit when conquering the Northwestern land.

Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark - 06.30: Have breakfast. On Sunday, you will have a chance to join the Dong Van weekly market which is very famous with thousands of H’mong, Dzao and Tay people with colorful clothes who sell lots of local products.
08.00: Check out and get on car and continuing with:
✔ Conquer Mapileng pass with spectacular scenery
✔ Take pictures with Mapileng canyon which is 800 meters deep
✔ Yacht on Nho Que River and pass to Tu San Canyon (not include the fee of return bus and boat, 15$/person)
Noon: Have lunch in Dong Van town. After Lunch, You will be back to Ha Giang. You will visit Lung Tam weaving village and explore the production stages to make brocade.
17.30: Arrive Ha Giang.

Chợ Đồng Văn - If today is sunday, We will visit

Dong Van is the northernmost district of Ha Giang province, located in the most unique rocky plateau area of Vietnam. Coming here, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the immense mountain scenery. Also you can know more about the daily life of the people of Dong Van. Especially, one of the places that tourists should visit is Dong Van Market.

Dong Van market is located in Dong Van old town. From Ha Giang City, along 4C Highway, back up to the northeast about 150km, visitors will come to Dong Van Market. This is the largest place of cultural and goods exchange in the Dong Van – Meo Vac rocky plateau. This is one of the typical markets of the community of ethnic minorities in the North.

Ma Pi Leng Pass - Ma Pi Leng Pass is a breathtaking mountain pass in Northern Vietnam, specifically in Ha Giang Province. Lung Tam village - Lung Tam is known as a long-standing traditional craft village of brocade weaving by the Hmong on Dong Van plateau, Ha Giang province. Besides brocade products that are favored by both domestic and foreign visitors, the unique feature in the weaving process of Lung Tam village is an attraction for visitors in Quan Ba district. Visiting Lung Tam village, visitors will have a chance to experience the daily life of the locals. Hmong women diligently work with looms to create beautiful brocade and linen pieces from flax fibers. Weaving a fine brocade piece is the pride of Hmong women.

The main material for weaving is flax fibers so all Hmong women have individual fields for growing flax plants. After harvesting, the flax plants are soaked in water to extract the fibers. Then the fibers are rolled and steamed to make them softer. The locals use natural colors from forest leaves and wood to dye the fibers.
