- Dambulla Cave Temple - Dambulla is part of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. The site features five caves carved from living rock, adorned with sculptures and murals, which are its most notable heritage. Pre-Brahmi inscriptions from the third century BC and murals from the eighteenth century indicate prolonged human activity. UNESCO designated this site a World Heritage Site in 1991. The Dambulla Project, managed by the Central Cultural Fund, oversaw mural conservation from 1982 to 1998.

- Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Sigiriya, also known as Sinhagiri, is an ancient rock fortress in the northern Matale District near Dambulla in Sri Lanka’s Central Province. This historically and archaeologically significant site is dominated by a massive rock column approximately 180 meters (590 feet) high. According to the ancient Sri Lankan chronicle, the Cūḷavaṃsa, the area was initially a large forest. After storms and landslides, it became a hill and was chosen by King Kashyapa (477 – 495 AD) for his new capital. He built his palace atop this rock and adorned its sides with colorful frescoes. About halfway up the rock, he constructed a gateway in the form of a giant lion. The name Sigiriya, or Lion Rock, is derived from this structure, similar to the etymology of Sinhapura, the Sanskrit name for Singapore, the Lion City.

First, we will visit Sri Lanka’s large cave temple, the Dambulla Cave Temple, where you can explore with the guide. Next, we will proceed to the cultural landmark of Sigiriya Lion Rock. You will climb up Sigiriya and delve into its rich historical past.
Afterward, we will visit a local spice village in Matale. At the end of the trip, we will drop you off at your hotel in Bentota.
