Highlights
  • Old Quarter - We pick you up from your hotel in the old quarter and start our full day discovering Hanoi
There’s an old Vietnamese saying, “Hanoi has thirty-six streets and guilds – Jam Street, Sugar Street, Salt Street…”. Inside a modern and dynamic city, there appears an antique quarter, Hanoi’s Old Quarter – the represented eternal soul of the city. These days, most Vietnamese and Westerners are familiar with the phrase “Hà Nội Ba mươi sáu phố phường” (translated as “Ha Noi 36 districts” or “Hanoi – 36 Old Streets”), or “Phố cổ Hà Nội” (translated as “Hanoi’s Old Quarter”), the top special historical vestige and sight-seeing of the capital, luring international visitors thanks to their most original state.
  • Chua Tran Quoc - This is the first stop in our trip to see the oldest pagoda in Vietnam named Tran Quoc Pagoda which you may enjoy the fresh air and beautiful view of Biggest lake in Hanoi
Tran Quoc Pagoda is more than 1500 years old, which means the place holds such an important role in the development of Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular. That is the main reason why the temple attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world every year.
  • Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum - This is the first visiting place on our trip today - Hochiminh Mausoleum - the first President of Vietnam, National Hero.
The Chairman Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (Vietnamese: Lăng Chủ tịch Hồ Chí Minh) is a mausoleum that serves as the resting place of Vietnamese Revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh in Hanoi, Vietnam. It is a large building located in the center of Ba Dinh Square, where Ho, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Vietnam from 1951 until his death in 1969, read the Declaration of Independence on 2 September 1945, establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. It is also known as Ba Đình Mausoleum (Vietnamese: Lăng Ba Đình) and is open to the public.
Note: The Mausoleum just opens in the early morning, except Monday and Friday.
  • Presidential Palace Historical Site - This humble wooden house was Ho Chi Minh’s residence from 1958 until his passing in 1969. It reflects his modest lifestyle and serves as a symbol of his close connection to the people.
  • One Pillar Pagoda - This unique pagoda, shaped like a lotus blossom emerging from the water, is a symbol of purity and resilience. It was built in the 11th century by Emperor Ly Thai Tong as an offering to the goddess of mercy.
  • Temple of Literature & National University - The Temple of Literature, known as Van Mieu in Vietnamese, is a symbol of Vietnam’s educational and cultural heritage. Founded in 1070 during the Ly Dynasty, it served as Vietnam’s first national university. The temple complex is dedicated to Confucius and honors scholars and literature.
  • Hoa Lo Prison - During your Hanoi travel adventure, in addition to savoring exquisite Vietnamese traditional cuisine, a visit to Hoa Lo Prison is a must. This historical site offers a profound glimpse into the lives of Vietnamese revolutionaries during the First Indochina War, making it an essential experience on your journey.
  • Train Street - Hanoi Train Street is one of the most famous and adventurous tourist spots in Hanoi. It’s a tiny narrow street hidden in one of the back streets of Hanoi and surrounded by high narrow houses packed closely together. These families’ backyards are the railways where the train passes a few times per day
It became one of the most popular spots in Hanoi after a local woman opened a shop in late 2017. But, of course, everyone else also made sure to make a business out of it, so many other cafes soon opened their doors along the tracks where tourists could safely enjoy this rare occurrence.

The cafes here are some of the cutest we visited in Vietnam. They are so colorful, full of flowers, art, paintings, and all kinds of decorations. You can sit down just a meter away from the tracks, or you can choose a spot upstairs where you get a higher perspective of the passing train.
