- Old Quarter - You will be picked up at 8:00 am from your hotel and taken to the meeting point for a safety briefing and detailed itinerary from our guide before starting the combined city and countryside tour.
Morning: The Red River Delta Countryside Tour offers a glimpse into rural life, including visits to villages, rice paddies, fruit farms, local markets, valleys, alleys, and countryside roads. You’ll experience local life, meet residents, and learn about their culture. This unique tour showcases attractions that many visitors miss.
-
Long Bien Bridge - We begin in the heart of the capital, enjoying views of the spectacular Long Bien Bridge over the Red River. From there, we ride vintage Vespas, visiting a temple over 1,000 years old in a 1,400-year-old village. We continue through rice paddies and small village alleys, breathing in the fresh air and learning about wet rice culture.
-
Co Loa Citadel - We ride through rice paddies to a local market, observing daily life and unique market items. We then explore the ancient city of Co Loa, learning its history from 257 BC. After a scenic ride through the countryside, we visit a family farm in the fields, where you’ll see tropical fruit farming and traditional rice wine production. Interact with the homeowners to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese life and enjoy fresh fruits.
After touring the villages, we return to Hanoi along the Red River bank for lunch. Post-lunch, you have time to explore Hanoi city.
- West Lake - We ride past the botanical garden and narrow alleys to Huu Hiep Lake, where you’ll see the B52 crash site from the 1972 bombing raids. This serves as a poignant reminder of recent history.
Next, we visit West Lake, the largest lake in Hanoi, offering city views and glimpses of affluent neighborhoods. We then head to Thanh Nien Street and Truc Bach Lake to see the John McCain monument and learn about his story.
-
Train Street - Our Vespa ride continues to the railway tracks, where you’ll observe local life just centimeters from the trains. We then head towards the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, stopping to view the area, including the Presidential Palace, Parliament House, and government offices, while our guide shares Hanoi’s history.
-
Ba Dinh Square - We ride to An Duong Market, where locals buy and sell fresh produce. Stroll through this bustling market to soak in Hanoi’s vibrant atmosphere.
Our next ride takes us along the riverside to a hidden village on the Red River island, where you’ll see farming and meet local residents. Our guide will introduce you to a local family to learn about their daily life.
We then ride through banana farms and vegetable fields to visit a Kumquat farm. These trees are traditional gifts during Tet, the Vietnamese lunar new year, symbolizing luck, health, wealth, fertility, and peace.
- Old Quarter - After a long ride, relax with Vietnamese coffee, including the famous Hanoi egg coffee.
Our final destination is the Long Bien Bridge, a historic structure over the Red River connecting the Hoan Kiem and Long Bien districts. Only motorbikes and bicycles can traverse it, so off we go!
