Highlights

This tour is organised and run by locals who have lived in the Blue Mountains all their life taking you to only the best places that can be fit in in a full day tour. This full day Blue Mountains tour is exactly that, we do not attend non relevant zoos, boats etc. Scenic World has also been removed from our itinerary as it wasn’t well received by our customer base.

This adventure commences early from Sydney with a meet and greet at the pickup point. You then have a bit over an hour to acquaint yourself with the group on the bus ride heading to the outskirts of Sydney.

Once you hit the start of the Blue Mountains there is a quick stop at a local shopping village where you can have a quick toilet/food/drinks stop before heading all the way up to the amazing Three Sisters rock formations. After taking photos of the Three sisters and jaw dropping Jamison Valley we then take you on a bushwalk right up to the three sisters and even onto one of the rock formations.

We then progress further into the mountains to Wentworth Falls where your guide will take the group for a 90 min hike through the bush where you will see local fauna, bird life and see several waterfalls on your hike to the base of the immense Wentworth falls and even have a quick refreshing dip.

All that sightseeing makes people hungry so the group will relocate to a nearby area where we cook an authentic Aussie BBQ with veggies and kangaroo on the side (vegetarian/vegan options).

After lunch we continue the day of fun and head to a local and secluded waterhole where people can go swimming or lay around on the sand in the sun deep within the bush of the Blue Mountains. Then, you head off into the nearby National Park down a long dirt road to say hello to skippy the Kangaroo. This tour has had hundreds of 5 star reviews. We are a small and passionate option!

By now the day is getting on and we head back into Sydney with an approximate arrival time of 6:00pm. We often conclude our day together at the Central Sydney bar.

Additional Information

Coast Warriors is Sydney’s laid-back small group tour operator, owned and operated by Aussie locals. We cater to active travelers aged 17 to around 60, though older participants are welcome if they can handle bushwalking and enjoy our advertised activities.

This tour is one of Sydney’s top-rated experiences for those looking for a relaxed Blue Mountains adventure. Our tours are led by friendly local Aussies and aim to feel more like a day out with a small group of friends rather than a traditional tour.

With years of experience, we ensure you’ll visit only the best and less touristy spots in the Blue Mountains. Expect waterfalls, stunning lookouts, a stop at Glenbrook’s local cafe, the Three Sisters at Katoomba, occasional kangaroo sightings, and frequent bird encounters. This is a full day in the Blue Mountains, generally away from the crowds and mainstream tour bus stops. We also offer Aussie snacks like Tim Tams and Vegemite.

  • November to March we sometimes have a splash in a shallow waterfall…though all year round you are welcome to get under the Waterfall (shallow 1m depth max) though is cold in winter #youdoyou
  • Minimum age is 16 years. Non Applicable for Private tours
  • Designated pickup and drop off at 812 George Street, Haymarket in the city which is nearby the FRONT of St Laurence church on the George Street side.
  • Moderate amount of walking involved with a 90min hike, there is an option to skip the hardest part as this section is return. Waterfall is 187 meters down.
  • Wear comfortable walking shoes…hiking shoes are not necessary. We are not a full on hike tour.
  • Welcome to bring snacks and drinks on bus. Please help us with your rubbish/trash
  • Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately. It can get really cold, really hot, rain and extremely rarely snow….the Blue Mountains is always a surprise. If it is cool in Sydney it will be very cold in the upper Blue Mountains.

  • Any questions or issues please email us, Whatsapp us or Instagram message Coastwarriors
  • LGBT friendly tour…just want normal and happy people that love the world and fellow earthlings
  • If you are seeking a tour where they talk most the tour through a microphone please do not book us. There is many other options. We are a balanced tour…a tour that doesnt feel like a tour
  • Please do not print off your booking voucher. Just have it on your phone. No point wasting your time and our paper
  • In regards to reviews, a vast majority are actually over on TripAdvisor opposed to the very small amount here
  • Update August 2024We have noticed an increase of dingoes (wild dogs) in the area scaring off the kangaroos. We also hope that this will return to normal asap. This has affected all tours mentioning wild kangaroos. Apologies
  • We highly recommend travel insurance in Australia as our emergency fees are quite high for non citizens
  • To maximise time spent in the Blue Mountains we do not offer hotel pickup or drop off. Sydney’s public transport is very reliable and efficient. Uber too

Engaging tour guide - Wentworth waterfall hike is challenging but fun. The tour guide is good at introducing aussie slangs and culture trivia knowledge.

UK visitors impression - It was a great tour to a beautiful part of Australia. As first time visitors it gave us a good impression of part of the wild country. Despite the misty conditions we had a good impression of the Blue mountains. Tommy, the driver and guide was brilliantly informative and helped make the day very enjoyable .

Good day trip - We had a great time on our tour! We got to see tons of lookouts and explore lots of different areas. We hiked down to the bottom of Wentworth Falls which was beautiful but is definitely a more advanced hike than we were lead to believe. Definitely not a hike for novice hikers

Excellent value, great day out! - One of the best day trips I’ve been on - this was such a good deal and photos don’t do the views justice! Our guide Tom was fantastic - providing interesting information and timing each stop well. He communicated well when bathroom breaks would be, where to take good photos, what to expect next, etc. Each location had beautiful views and we were never rushed. The lunch sandwich was also delicious and the right amount. Such a fun day out and highly recommend!

Great day in the Blue Mountains - Although we started off in rain and fog, it started clearing by our first overlook and the weather was perfect for our steep hike down to the base of the waterfall. Tommy was a great guide, with lots of info about plants and animals, as well was Aussie lingo. Would have rather had more time in the park - maybe a rim walk near Wentworth Falls - rather than in the town of Glenbrook, and the three sisters stop could easiy be eliminated, as it was full of tour buses. A truly hiking focused trip would be my preference, but Tommy made the best of our schedule. He was also a super safe driver, which was appreciated.
