Highlights
  • Black Diamond Resort Company - Enjoy complimentary transport from your Healy hotel to Black Diamond Resort Co, where you’ll embark on a family-friendly backcountry treasure hunt.

After a short safety briefing, you’ll hop aboard your own Polaris Ranger, outfitted with seat belts, a windshield and cover. It’s similar to a small open-air Jeep but sports the exciting flair of an ATV. Then, head out into the wilds of Alaska with your professional guide.

Navigate the back country trails, searching for hidden secrets, granite rocks, and additional clues that bring you closer and closer to finding your treasure: a rustic pavilion in the woods where a camp-style meal awaits.

Traverse old mining paths that spill out onto the Dry Creek River Bed, stop on a whim to take in the surrounding scenery, or walk along the tundra and travel up the side of Black Diamond Peak for spectacular views of the Healy Valley — all the while working together to strategize and plan your next moves.

Custom treasure hunt experience. - Everything was great! We did the treasure hunt with teenagers, and our guide, Ross the boss, was incredible! He made a custom tour just for the four of us. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Ross shared tons of information about the area, and made the trip perfect for us. Thank you!!!

Black Diamond ATV and Dinner Excellence - We went out with Jonathan on 6/14/24 on the Diamond Treasure Hunt and Dinner. The views were spectacular! We had done a number of hikes to get to beautiful views already in Alaska so it was a thrill to zip from view to view so easily! Jonathan was a fantastic guide with plenty of enthusiasm to go around. Dinner was delicious and everyone we encountered was very friendly. I’m a little less risk tolerant than my boys so I really appreciated Jonathan paying close attention and checking in a few times to see how we were all enjoying the ride. It made it easy to trust him and be a little more risky than I would normally be. So much fun!!! Highly recommend this trip!

This is NOT geocaching but a BLAST! - This was SOOOOO much fun. We were four “mature” women who were told a couple of times it was a geocaching trip but it definitely is not. We were at first disappointed but quickly got over that. I never would’ve seen myself riding an ATV but would absolutely do it again. Our driver Gavin was awesome and I think he probably had lots of laughs listening to us along the way. The treasure hunt part is geared more towards kids but since we didn’t have kids our driver/guide gave us a tour of the area and pointed out things of interest. Be prepared to get VERY dusty if conditions are dry and I’m guessing muddy if not. We also got wet when going through streams which was a riot. Dinner was good too. Same meal and place as the covered wagon trip they offer. I highly recommend it.

Best Tour for Kids - This tour was amazing for our grandsons aged 5, 9 and 11. Danny (guy) was our lead guide. He was like the best big brother to the boys. He learned their names right away and got them so excited about what they were doing. He also educated them in a fun way about the mountains around them. He really was incredible, high 5ing them all the time. He really made this treasure hunt perfect. I can not say enough good things about Danny. 7 years ago, my husband and took a different Black Diamond tour. This company is very highly recommended. Best time on our trip so far!!! Thank you for a fabulous time. — Susan Olney and family with grandsons Grayson, Camden and Keaton.
