Highlights
  • Seljalandsfoss - Your first stop is Seljalandsfoss waterfall. This is one of Iceland most beautiful waterfalls where you can walk behind and see the rainbow on the other side on sunny days. The water in this waterfall runs from the glacier/volcano Eyjafjallajökull.
  • Skogafoss - Next stop is the waterfall with hidden treasure underneath it. This is Skógafoss waterfall. You can walk all the way on top of it and see the water run down. The hiking trail to Fimmvörðuháls starts by this waterfall.
  • Dyrhólaey - Cape Dyrhóley is a true magic. Being on top of it and seeing black sand beach on both sides of you, the mighty volcano Katla and breathing the fresh air from the North Atlantic oceand while seeing the strong waves brake at the cliffs. This island is also known for the big Puffin colony in the summer.
  • Reynisfjara Beach - Continue to the east you will visit the Black Sand Beach. Standing on this beach and listening to the power of the North Atlantic Ocean and seeing the troll out in the ocean that has turned into stone after helping a 3 mast ship to shore. The basaltic rocks in the mountain on the beach are surreal.

Icleand, the best way to discover with Rekjavik Outvendure. - Everything went very well. Very comfortable - we were picked up from the hotel and the driver himself was the guide and talked very interesting about Iceland. We did the trip at our own tempo. The bus was comfortable and warm.

Everything you could want from a private tour, and more. - We asked owner Johann to organise a really special day and Reykjavik Outventure did not disappoint. A really wonderful trip with guide Bjartmar who was fantastic - professional, personable and passionate about his country. Bjartmar took us to quiet spots as well as the more famous sites, was really flexible and knowledgeable. The vehicle was a comfortable and capable 4x4 (a new Defender). A private tour is always going to be relatively expensive, but done as well as this, it is worth every krona.

Stay Away from Reykjavik Outventure - Use Any Other Tour Company! - Unfortunately, we did not receive the private tour portion of this package. We were picked up (late) and driven to the base camp for snowmobiling on the glacier. When the snowmobiling was done, we were taken back to Reykjavik. Our driver did offer to stop at one waterfall on the way home and waited in the parking lot as we walked up to it ourselves. We did not receive a private tour, nor receive most of the package as described. We contacted the company afterwards and Bence, the Operations Manager, told us it is up to the guests to make sure everything is experienced on the private tour (what?!). While they agreed we did not receive a private tour - only a ride to snowmobiling and back - they refused to give a partial refund for the portion of the tour we did not receive. This tour was booked through a booking company and our hotel. Both the booking company and hotel agreed that Reykjavik Outventure was acting inappropriately and agreed that we should receive a refund. They both spoke with Reykjavik Outventure separately and were not able to reason with them. In the end, both the booking company and the hotel waived their commission on our booking and gave it to us because they felt bad that Reykjavik Outventure refused to do the right thing. Our hotel has also severed their relationship with Reykjavik Outventure as a result of our experience and will no longer book their guests with this company. Iceland is a beautiful country with a lot to explore. While we encourage everyone to visit the country, we strongly urge you not to use Reykjavik Outventure for any tours in hopes that they will not steal from you as they did us. There are many other reputable tour companies you should use instead. We enjoyed EastWest Iceland a great deal. We also had a good experience with Superjeep Iceland and with Nicetravel Iceland on our last two trips to the country.
