Dia is an uninhabited island north of Heraklion surrounded by small rocky inlets and it is only accessible on boat. In the southern part of the island there are 4 quiet bays: the gulf of Agios Georgios, which is where boats use to moor, the gulf of Kapari, the bay of Panagia and the gulf of Agrielia.

The island is of great archeological interest as it was populated during Minoan times and near the bay of Agios Georgios, a harbour settlement was established. The undersea discoveries of Jacques Yves Cousteau in 1974-5, provided evidence suggesting that there stood one of the biggest and most important ports in the whole island of Crete. The harbour appears to have sunk due to the destruction caused in the 1450 bc by the eruption of the volcano of Santorini.

Perfect day! - The boat was spacious and comfortable, making the journey incredibly relaxing. The crew was friendly and made sure everyone had a great time, sharing stories and insights about the area. The chance to swim in the secluded spots was a real treat. A fantastic way to enjoy the sea and sun!

I am very thankful for them for the great experience - I proposed to my fiancée on one of their boat. Everything was perfect. They helped a lot to organise those special moments that we will remember for the rest of our lives. They just made it perfect and the only thing I had to worry about was the proposal itself. The crew was super helpful and kind. We went to Dia island for a romantic experience but I would definitely choose them to go their with friends or family to have fun.

Yachting at it’s finest! - An amazing experience!We did a private full day trip to Dia island with Avanti sailing team.The crew was amazing and very helpful in every way possible.We were provided with snorkelling equipment and we had fun paddling on their paddle board.The boat was so clean and had all the comforts you could ask for during a sailing trip.We also had launch on board and we tasted a delicious greek salad.For me Avanti sailing is a must do option for everyone who wants to experience premium yachting in Crete.Will visit again with no hesitation!

Best In Crete!!!! - In our search for the ultimate boat adventure in Crete, we stumbled upon a gem that surpassed all expectations! Captain George and Eva led the way, showcasing the true essence of the Aegean. Anchoring at Dia Island, we were introduced to the mesmerizing waters of St George’s bay. But it wasn’t just the sights. The boat came equipped with paddleboards, and let me tell you, gliding over those crystal-clear waters was nothing short of magical. They also had fishing and snorkeling gear on hand, allowing us to dive deeper into the wonders beneath the waves. As evening approached, the ambiance shifted with the setting sun, our favorite tunes streaming from the Bluetooth, and the contagious energy making us groove. And the food? A symphony of flavors, complemented perfectly with refreshing beverages. For an unmatched maritime experience in Crete, this is your stop. Epic!

Amazing sailing day! - The sailing day trip with Avanti Sailing was great! Our captain Gil was so friendly and accommodating- and communication was great leading up to the day. We had tons of fun on board and got plenty of time to swim and paddle board. There was beer and wine provided on board and our crew prepared delicious snacks. We had an amazing time overall - so fun, so easy, no stress!
