Dia is an uninhabited island north of Heraklion surrounded by small rocky inlets and it is only accessible on boat. In the southern part of the island there are 4 quiet bays: the gulf of Agios Georgios, which is where boats use to moor, the gulf of Kapari, the bay of Panagia and the gulf of Agrielia.

The island is of great archeological interest as it was populated during Minoan times and near the bay of Agios Georgios, a harbour settlement was established. The undersea discoveries provided evidence suggesting that there stood one of the biggest and most important ports in the whole island of Crete.

Fantastic family trip with older children - We had a wonderful time with the excellent team. All of us were excited to pass giant sea turtles as we were sailing and we saw a few different types of fish whilst snorkeling at Dia. We went on the sunset tour, which meant no early start and a fabulous end to the day watching the sunset on our way back to the harbour. Thank you for a fantastic trip. 100% recommended!

A relaxing day to Dia island. - It was a very well organised trip. The captain (Greg) and his first mate (Dimitris) were exceptionally friendly and able to answer any queries. The food was a simple but delicious pork pasta, with Greek salad. Followed by fresh fruit. Drinks were available - water, soft drinks and wine (although wine was not offered at lunch, only on setting off). The full day gave lots of time for swimming, paddle boarding and enjoying the elegance of Dia Island.

Magnificent - We had a beautiful day sailing with Avanti Sailing. Greg was a fantastic host and captain. The waters of Dia was beautiful and a must visit.

Magnificent experience - We had a wonderful afternoon and evening on the sailboat of jiannis the captain and his crew Costas! Lovely sailed, quite exciting so angled we lay but not felt unsafe for a moment. Nice that the captain can also cook well besides being a good sailor! Beautiful sunset and to top it off a dolphin spotted. A fat 10!

Perfect way to watch a sunset! - From the moment our driver picked us up from the hotel and transferred us to the marina we felt assured that we booked a sailing trip with the right company. Captain Yanis and his first mate, were incredibly chill and knowledgeable. The sail out to DIA was effortless. Stunning views of the city and the island. On arrival into the bay we jumped into the crystal clear water and enjoyed the snorkeling equipment and paddle board. A real Highlight was walking up to the church of saint George. Spectacular views and lots of Instagram worthy pictures. Dinner was simple but delicious. Traditional Greek salad, pasta with pork and bread. Please share with Yanis if you have any food allergies or preferences. Sail back was fun, sitting on the side of the boat and listening to some good tunes. All in all we had a fabulous time. I would recommend this to anyone with teenagers.

Amazing sun set cruise - Amazing! From start to finish. If you’re in this area it is a must. The captains are so knowledgeable and very friendly and communication from start to finish was excellent. The food was lovely and jumping off into the Cretan sea was amazing. We managed to do the sunset cruise which was breathtaking. 10/10 would recommend! Thank you!
