ARRIVAL IN LEH

Leh - Our representative will greet you at Leh airport and transfer you to your hotel. Spend the day resting to acclimatize. In the evening, you are free to take a walk to Leh market on your own. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Leh.

Leh Market - Stay hydrated and get plenty of rest. In the evening, you can visit Leh market.

LEH LOCAL SIGHTSEEING

Leh Royal Palace - Also known as Lachen Palkar Palace, this former royal residence overlooks the city of Leh in Ladakh, India. Built around 1600 by Sengge Namgyal, the palace was abandoned in the mid-19th century when Dogra forces took over Ladakh, forcing the royal family to move to Stok Palace.

Magnetic Hill - Located near Leh in Ladakh, India, this gravity hill creates an optical illusion where a downhill road appears to be uphill. Objects and cars on this road seem to defy gravity by rolling uphill when they are actually rolling downhill.

Alchi Monastery - Continue your drive to Alchi Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient murals and sculptures. Appreciate the unique blend of Indian and Tibetan architectural styles and soak in the spiritual ambiance of the monastery.

Likir Monastery - After visiting Alchi, head to Likir Gonpa.

Shanti Stupa - Spend your evening at Shanti Stupa, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the town and surrounding mountains. It’s a peaceful place to watch the sunset and meditate.

LEH TO NUBRA

Khardung La - Known as the gateway to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys in Ladakh, this is the highest motorable pass in the world. Tourists often stop here to take photographs. Adventure bikers from around the world visit this pass for an exhilarating experience. Located 40 km from Leh, Khardung La Pass sits at an altitude of 18,379 ft (5602 m).

Hunder - Enjoy the stunning view of Shayok Valley and don’t miss the Desert Safari ride on the famous Himalayan double-hump camels in Hunder.

NUBRA TO PANGONG

Pangong Tso - In Ladakh, nature always has surprises. Pangong Lake, at an altitude of nearly 4,350m, is the world’s highest saltwater lake. Its blue waters contrast sharply with the surrounding arid mountains. Spanning almost 160km, one-third of the lake lies in India and the other two-thirds in China.

Thiksey Monastery - Situated on a hilltop north of the Indus River and less than 20km from Leh town, Thiksey Monastery was built in 1430 AD and belongs to the Gelukpa Order.

Awesome experience - We were family of 6 - went for 10 day trip from Chennai. I was worried that my father who is near 70 and mother near 65 can go through the trip- esp khardungla pass where oxygen is less, pangong tso where oxygen drops fast at night and chang la pass. No issues whatsoever we had. It was perfectly planned and executed including oxygen cylinders best innova and drivers who knew the area like back of the hand. Ladakh backpackers made it happen. From the airport pickup in srinagar to boat house to monasteries to leh to turtuk to dunes to camel ride to snowy mountains - the best tour we ever had. Would recommend ladakh backpackers to be safe and enjoy.

Awesome Ladakh Tour with Ladakh Backpackers - Thank you team Ladakh Backpackers for the wonderful experience. A very well organized tour with great places to visit. All the hotels provided had excellent facilities. As Ladakh is a high altitude region the tour design with time for acclimatisation to high altitude helps a lot. We always had a Oxygen Cylinder in the tour vehicle in case of emergency, but did not require it. Fida and Padma met us twice to see if everything was going fine. A big shoutout to Zahoor Bhai our vehicle driver for his calm and safe driving throughout our time in Ladakh and answering our questions. All in all the Ladakh Backpackers Rock.

Car service in Ladakh - Stanzin - Amazing driver @ +91 60066 86737 - This review is specifically for the car we hired to go around in Ladakh for 10 days in June 2024. We landed in Leh, spent a couple of days there and then traveled to Khardungla Pass, Nubra Valley, Pangong, Hanle, Tso Moriri, Taglangla, Hemis and Stok before returning to Leh. Stanzin was our car driver on this tour and we are grateful to him for his amazing companionship. Stanzin is very professional and was not just our driver for us but also a fantastic tour guide. His English speaking skills are a little challenged but his driving skills, his patience, conduct, attitude, friendliness and professionalism are almost 10/10. It further amazes you that almost everyone seems to know him in Ladakh. One can reach Stanzin at +91 60066 86737.

Excellent trip - If you want to see Ladakh then it has to be with the Ladakh backpackers team. Fida, Padma, Gulam and team! The best part was their customer centricity and obsession. They would go to any extent to make sure that you have a memorable experience. Their planning of the trip, attention to all details and they are there at every step to help you. We were travelling with small kids and Fida was guiding us in each and every step. The hotels they booked were excellent, the cars and their drivers were superb. They don’t treat you as “one more customer” they really make you feel special and they understand that it’s a life time trip for many. My elder daughter was not feeling well so Padma and Fida came to the hotel and took us to the doctor, this was very touching and I would always remember their gesture.

An amazing Ladakh experience - We just concluded a 6 night's Ladakh trip with Ladakh Backpackers and we had an amazing time. The trip was very well organized with good food and good hotels. The iternary was very well organized and not stressful and we covered all the beautiful and prominent sightseeing spots in Ladakh. Mr Padma, our tour executive came to meet us on the first day to explain about the trip, the necessary precautionary measures to be taken and made us comfortable. The car arranged for our tour was very comfortable, with a very good and polite driver, Abdul. We have come back home with pleasant memories of Ladakh, thanks to the Ladakh Backpackers team consisting of Fida, Padma,Rinchen and Abdul for making this trip wonderful for us.

Team of Young People. - Had an amazing 1 week stay and travel experience in Ladakh, thanks to the team of Ladakh Backpackers who seamlessly worked to make our trip memorable. Ladakh is a once in a lifetime experience and I would 10/10 recommend you to visit. From the beautiful landscapes to the most polite of people, it’s a beautiful journey and best if catered to by a quality travel company. Apart from the regular Leh, Nubra, Pangong, id highly recommend people to visit Turtuk and travel via road if possible as the journey is spectacular. Thanks for your service Fida, Padma and Rincean

A memorable tour with many awesome experiences - I had a great experience on the tour. The driver was excellent and spoke a little bit of English, which was helpful. He was able to take us to all the best places and make sure we had a good time. The hotels were also very nice and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great experience. Here are some specific details about the tour that I would add to the review: * The driver was very knowledgeable about the area and was able to give us a lot of interesting information about the places we visited. * He was also very friendly and helpful, and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. * The hotels were clean, comfortable, and had good amenities. * The food was delicious and varied, and we always had plenty to eat. * The overall experience was well-organized and efficient, and I felt like I got my money's worth. "One of my favorite places that we visited was Turtuk. It was so beautiful and I loved learning about its history. The driver was also able to take us to a few hidden gems that we would have never found on our own."

One of our best and memorable trip ever! Love you, Ladakh! - As massive procrastinators and people who book things only at the last minute - our plans for Ladakh were made at the last minute. By chance, my wife found Ladakh Bagpackers, and in a few minutes we were talking to Fida. In a few hours, we had a very well organized (and in pdf) itinerary. Options for hotels were fantastic and in a couple of days we were at Ladakh. The Bagpackers covered it all from the moment we landed. They picked us up, dropped us at our hotel in Leh - send us reminders when to start the day later. It was great! We traveled across all of Ladakh. From Leh to Kargil, then to Nubra Valley, then to Pangong So - and made sure we experienced it all. If you plan to go, ask for Tashi. He was our guide across the landscapes of Ladakh - and make sure you meet Fida and Padma. They will make sure you enjoy the trip!
