well worth it. - Excellent!!!! The excursion delivered 3 different experiences as promised. The market visit was very informative. and interesting. The coconut boats 'touristy' in the least but the locals piloting the boats were genuinely keen to get everyone involved and to have a great time. The cooking class and lunch were very well done and the food delicious. Our guide Oahn, was delightful, witty, efficient and could not have tried harder to please, sharing local knowledge as well as acting as photographer Go with the flow and have a great time.

From being collect by taxi to local hotel, get on bikes, ride through town & along river onto rice fields, water buffalo ride, ploughing the field, onto river boat ride (never laughed so much) then cooking school. Rice grinding, pancake making then a feast. Just amazing & made all the better with our fantastic guides/owners. Thankyou so much x

Amazing experience. Don’t miss out! - What an awesome experience! It was a last minute decision to book (1 hour before departure). We couldn’t book online as it was too late so we spoke to our hotel staff and they just called the tour guide to check if there was room. There was and we were on! We did the 2:30pm to 7:00pm tour. We got picked up from the hotel and went on a short bus trip. Our tour guide (won, wan, wun. Not sure how to spell it), was absolutely amazing. She was funny, witty and spoke good English. Our first stop was the markets where we got to try different foods and learn about the different things Vietnamese people use in their cooking. They were all pretty good. When we got to the coconut boats, we were paired up and away we went. I don’t want to say much more as it might ruin the surprise, but it was hilarious and awesome. The Vietnamese boat rowers didn’t speak English but they were funny. They paddled us down the river for about 20 minutes to our next destination for our cooking class. We weren’t sure if we were meant to tip the boat rowers but my partner and I just gave the lady 200,000 Dong as we thought she was lovely and we had so much fun. I’m not sure if the other guests in the tour group did. The cooking class was another exceptional experience. We cooked amazing food and had so many laughs. We were very fortunate to have a fun tour group which made the experience even better. The tour guides constantly took photos and videos to send to us which was awesome. Overall, it was worth every cent (only about $36 AUD each). The tour guide was awesome, the boat ride was even better and the cooking class was amazing. If you’ve got time, give it a go. So worth it!

The best cooking tour - We had an amazing day on this tour, we booked last minute via our hotel and couldn't have been more impressed. The cooking in particular was fantastic, really tasty and varied and a lot of food. Rubi was so knowledgeable and a fantastic teacher. The basket boat was a nice addition, obviously quite touristy but we liked having the chance to experience this added in to the tour rather than a separate activity. It's hard to pick from the number of tours available but we would definitely recommend this one.

Fantastic, authentic experience of Vietnamese country life - The Hoi An Village Experience is undoubtedly the best thing we did on our recent vacation to Vietnam! Mr Cu, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Vietnamese country life, and the whole experience was fantastic from start to finish. We cycled a short distance to look at some rice, sweet potato and peanuts growing in the fields; we rode on water buffalo, ploughed a muddy field, then planted some rice; we paddled on the river in small round boats, and had great fun and laughter with some locals; then we ate authentic Vietnamese food, which we partly had to prepare ourselves. Amazing experience and delicious food!! Mr Cu is a lovely, funny, intelligent family man with a brilliant sense of humour. The entire experience was fantastic and truly memorable. I can’t recommend this trip highly enough!!

Worth every penny! - Wow! There is a lot packed into this experience...but yet it is a relaxed pace that can be thoroughly enjoyed. Biking thru beautiful rice fields. Visiting a farming couple who share their water buffalo and let you participate in planting rice. A leisurely float in a basket boat along with a bit of crab fishing and a fishing net throwing demo. Lunch in a clean, airy, covered shelter where you participate in cooking delicious food (accommodations cheerfully made for vegetarians). PLUS, the money you spend on booking this experience is shared with all the locals you'll interact with. Also, the tour host prioritizes hiring staff with mild disabilities to give them gainful employment. All in all, this is a wonderful experience you won't soon forget.

Do it!! - This cooking course was so good!! Everything we expected and so much more. Oanh was such a good guide and cook. She was very knowledged and gave us very good introduktion at the market to fish, meat, vegetables, fruits, spices and herbes. The kids had a hard time with the smell of fish, but they absolutely loved the boats, music, dancing and the cooking! And the food was SO GOOD!! We went with kids, 6, 11 and 15 years old. Our 11 year old asked after the day, if we could do it again since she loved it so much. Thank you Oanh for giving us an unforgetable good day, and thank you for your wonderful engagement and your humor.

A must do in hoi an - From start to finish we had a fantastic day! They offer hotel pick up and drop off, an informative market tour, coconut boat experience with local fishermen and then the cooking class! All the food we made was amazing and explained really well, you’re then given recipes before you go. All the guides were really friendly, funny and spoke great English. Would highly recommend this if you’re in Hoi an
