We had a really amazing time... -
We had a really amazing time learning all about the different areas of food production in and around Hoi An, as well as enjoying making wantons. There was actually a choice of riding on the back of a motorbike or cycling, but we decided to stick to cycling. If you go on a motorbike, you can relax a bit more in the city as you dont have to worry about the traffic, and in the countryside you can take photos whilst riding. But on a bicycle, we were able to control where we were going a lot more. Highly recommended tour!

This was a great day. Our tour guide... -
This was a great day. Our tour guide Key was very knowledgeable and fun. There were only 4 of us on this trip. Be prepared to bike through the city before entering the country side. This was a bit nervewracking with all the traffic. We made several stops along the way. got to see farmers working the fields, and stopped for several food tastings. We got to make our very own dumplings at a local restaurant. It was a fun day and I'd highly recommend it.

I CAN NOT BELIEVE I did not rate... -
I CAN NOT BELIEVE I did not rate this tour earlier - I sure have thought about it a lot since my trip - what an opportunity of a lifetime - that I will never forget! Our tour guide was THE BEST. So thoughtful, caring, funny - this guy is going places. He was working so hard on his English and was doing a super job and he could not have made our trip ANY more special! I hope you can look up his name and tell him how much his time and knowledge meant to us. I only hope to be back some day:

Fun half day trip - We were guided by River, who was a lovely and funny young lady. She kept us informed and entertained (mainly by her humour) throughout the trip. It was lovely riding out to the vegetable village. It really isn't far out of Hoi An but you did feel you get a regional experience. Riding through the town was fun, a bit of an adrenaline rush for me. The restaurant where we made the dumplings was OK. The ladies that make the dumplings and do the demonstration didn't seem very happy. The dumplings were pretty tasty though. The bikes were very old and could use replacing. Make sure to check your brakes work before you leave the meeting point!

Fun experience! - This was a fun experience for "city folks" like us. Riding through the city initially was nerve wrecking (and slightly dangerous if you are not a confident rider) but once you get into the "countryside", it turns into a nice quiet ride along paddy fields with wandering water buffalos. Our guide Ani was knowledgeable and accommodating, and offered to stop at a few places for photos. We stopped at a restaurant to make white rose. It was fun but I wouldn't categorize it as a "cooking lesson". Also stopped at the Central Market for Cao Lau and another restaurant for some other local delights. Glad we did it but I would rate this to be slightly expensive for about USD$90 for two. There were only 2 of us so it was relatively easy to navigate (aside from the crazy city traffic). I would imagine it to be a little more chaotic if there were up to 8 people.

Bike tour - Went on this bike tour in Jan 2018. My husband and I thought that there would be more cooking in the cooking lesson. It’s more of a bike tour. Our guide Eric was great :) We went to a farm and several restaurants. You learn how to put together some dumplings but the filling is made before. The highlight was getting to eat the special Cau Lau noodle dish of Hoi An which we didn’t know about and fell in love with!

OVERPRICED!! - We booked through a viator without checking reviews, what a mistake!!! $118 AUD later because they added the travel insurance and refused to refund it when we already said we had it. There is basically no cooking, all you do is roll out dumpling pastry and put the filling in, the rest is just riding around the country side, which if you take your free bike from your hotel you will see all of this anyway. The country side fields that you ride through are on the way to An Bang Beach so if you ride there you will see them anyway. I WOULD NOT recommend this tour, massive rip off and waste of time!!
