To begin, you’ll have the opportunity to savor our herbal tea while listening to an expert discuss the heritage and cultural significance of Hoi An Lanterns….
Our Lanterns are crafted from silk and bamboo, available in a variety of forms including lotus, diamond, sunrise, and sunset.
The comprehensive 11-step process to create your own lantern is as follows:
Step 1: Fasten 12 bamboo rods using wire thread
Step 2 and 3: Mold the rods into either a sunrise (inverted triangle) or sunset (triangle) shape
Step 4: Place the bamboo rods onto a hanger and fix them in place with thread
Step 5: Choose your preferred silk and hue
Step 6: Apply adhesive and wait for it to set
Step 7: Position the silk and stretch it to envelop the rods
Step 8: Encase the sides completely with silk
Step 9: Adorn the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips
Step 10: Pick out a tassel for the base of the lantern
Step 11: Complete! You can collapse your lantern and pack it in your luggage to take home
Additionally, the expert will craft an extra lantern for you as a unique token of appreciation at the conclusion of the workshop.

Highly recommended! - We had booked a half day tour of Hoi An at night, and arranged to arrive early so we could do this experience before heading on the tour. We were really glad we took the time to arrange this! We were really happy with this experience. There was plenty of staff around to guide us through the process, and make sure we were doing things right. Really impressive how they were able to guide each person and keep the class moving. We did the full experience (2 hours). It's a great souvenir too! They were pretty responsive on WhatsApp - though I did have to follow up once or twice, so don't let that deter you. They were flexible to our needs and made sure we left happy.
