Highlights
  • Trung Hoa Assembly hall - Delve into the rich heritage of Chinese merchants in Hoi An. Located at 64 Tran Phu Street, adjacent to Phuoc Kien Pagoda, Trung Hoa Assembly Hall was founded in 1741 and was initially known as Duong Thuong Assembly Hall. Despite some beliefs that it dates back to the 15th century, it remains one of Hoi An’s oldest assembly halls. It served as a residence for Chinese immigrants and is dedicated to Thien Hau Holy Mother.
  • Fukian Assembly Hall (Phuc Kien) - Uncover the stunning hall representing Fujian origins. Established in 1697, the Fukian Assembly Hall (Phuc Kien) in Hoi An is a prime example of Chinese architecture. It is believed that Chinese merchants from the Fukian Province constructed this grand assembly hall.
  • Old House of Tan Ky - Discover the lifestyle of a prosperous merchant family. Built in 1741, Tan Ky Old House has housed seven generations of the Le family. The name “Tan Ky” was adopted by Mr. Le Tan Ky (the second generation). Initially, the house was used for trading agricultural products. The front of the house faces Nguyen Thai Hoc street, while the back faces Bach Dang street along the Hoai river. During that period, Hoi An was a bustling international trading port frequented by Japanese, Chinese, and Western merchant ships, making the house’s location ideal for trade.
  • Ba Le Well - Witness a millennium-old water well from the Champa civilization that is still in use. Among the approximately 80 ancient wells in Hoi An, Ba Le Well is the most renowned, once considered essential for the town’s famous cao lau noodle. Believed to have been constructed in the 10th century by the Cham people, the well is surrounded by mythology, with enchanting tales of mystical connections and fairies.
