A wonderful Vietnamese cooking experience - This was a fantastic authentic Vietnamese cooking experience. A half hour boat ride to a quaint village at Grandmas house. Mrs Thom certainly did her Grandma proud! We were shown 4 different dishes to prepare and were thoroughly explained the origins, process and methods of cooking. Couldn’t be more happy with this experience and highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you Mrs Thom 🙏🙏

Just do it! No gimmicks, great food. - Absolutely delighted with our choice to go with Grandma’s. All I wanted was genuine Vietnamese cuisine and to avoid any touristy gimmicks and this is exactly that. We started off on a relaxing boat ride to the island where Grandma’s house is located. Thom (who was a fantastic host) gave us a bit of history on the island, the family, old techniques for processing rice and creating rice milk and rice paper. Then we started cooking. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing. I won’t spoil anything but there was plenty variety. One bit of advice is maybe don’t have breakfast before the class, they didn’t skimp on the food. Fantastic experience.

Top activity in Hoi An - If you are looking for an authentic small group cooking course this is a MUST DO in Hoi An. After a short boat trip you will be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and end up with the family of Thom. Super friendly and nice hostess who shares other tips for your visit in Hoi An. You really get your money's worth! You cook delicious small dishes and get to know new flavor combinations. If you like cooking you can also buy the products (sauces, powders) at correct prices... Delicious activity to do!

Authentic cooking experience - Our family had a fabulous day with our guide Thom. The day was very well organised and the planning and equipment was all of an excellent standard. We were feeling a bit tired and unsure at the start of the day, but had a fantastic experience and were so glad we did it!

My Grandma's cooking tour , Hoian - If you get a chance to do this tour with Thom you'll never regret it. She took us to her family's home where her grandmother lives, we learnt how to cook local dishes and learn about the history of her family and the local area. She also had plenty of tips on where to shop in the markets. A totally engaging lady who made the day go very quick, 100% recommend Thom and my grandma's cooking tour.

Exemplary experience - We had the unique opportunity to do this as a private tour after another couple postponed due sickness. Thom was a fantastic guide, taking us into her grandmothers house for a memorable day of cooking and Vietnamese culture. Beautiful setting, exposure to historic cooking techniques and exquisite food. We have done multiple cooking experiences around the world and this is one to remember. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Cooking Experience - Amazing cooking class. You boat to a small island where grandma lives. She’s 99 so no longer greets her guests but, her granddaughter teaches you using grandma’s recipes. You make four different recipes which are all excellent. When you return to Hoi An they give you a booklet with all the recipes. I highly recommend this cooking class.

Tasting an authentic vietnam life - We fully enjoyed this cooking tour. It was much more than just a cooking tour. The recipes are not too complicated but very fresh and yummy. The presentation / teaching was excellent. The boat trip was also very pleasant.

A must do in Hoi An - We spent a fantastic day with Thom! Everything is well organized and meaningful. She is really taking care of all and especially our children. We start the day with a visit to the local market, discover all local dishes, and taste some of them. After a small hour of boat, you arrive to the gran'ma house, which is well organized and well modernized to welcome us. The cooking time is really well organized and accessible to everyone. Thom was taking care of Gaspar(5yo) and our 2 daughters cooking by herself. Do not eat breakfast!! At the end of the day the quantity is too big... no waste, all is reused, but you are never satisfied not to eat something you prepared. Thank you Thom, is a amazing experience. You and your team are fantastic!

Warm and fun cooking experience. Highly recommend - My friends and I really enjoyed this experience! First, the meeting spot is in a neighborhood a few blocks away from ancient town and we really like the relaxed vibe there. We took the boat to the island where Thom’s grandma lives. Thom told us a bit about her and her grandma’s story and walked us through how to make rice paper and four different dishes (vegetarian option available). It was lots of good food so definitely come hungry! Thom’s family all helped guide us through the dishes - everyone was very hospitable and kind. Def recommend!
