Incredible Day - We booked this tour with Viator before we departed on our cruise. I was nervous about the details i.e.. meeting at the port etc. The tour guide, Ling and the day exceeded our expectations. Ling was informative, bright, humorous and kind. She planned a full day with skill. Our lunch was delicious and the venue was beautiful by the river. Marble Mountain and Hoi An were amazing. In summary, excellent tour, excellent guide.

Rent full van to go from Chan May to Da Nang and Hoi An - We went on a cruise (Voyager of the Seas), which stopped in Chan May in July 2018 for 8 hours (11 am-7 pm). We rented a full van with driver from Mr Duc Nguyen (Email: ductannguyen5584@gmail.com, Phone: 92-4482724) to drive our group (10 passengers) from the Chan May port to Da Nang (100 km from Chan May) and Hoi An (30 km from Da Nang) Mr Duc has a new 15-passenger van -- very comfortable and clean and with a very good AC system. Mr Duc met us promptly at Chan May port at 11 am, drove us to Da Nang & Hoi An thru Hai Van pass, and dropped us back at Chan May at 6:30 pm. Mr Duc was an excellent driver and a very good tour guide. He explained to us each site before we got there. Mr Duc can speak 4 languages (VN, English, Chinese, and some Russian). Key thing that we liked about Mr Duc was his flexibility and courtesy. Since we had only 8 hours and a full agenda with over 7 places to visit, time management was very important. Mr. Duc is also a high-tech person -- with Email and Viber. We touched base often via Viber before the trip to coordinate the agenda. Overall, we had an excellent visit in Da Nang and Hoi An thanks to Mr Duc's assistance

Excellent private tour - We booked this excursion as it was what all four of us wanted to do. We were met at the port by our guide Vung who never stopped smiling all day long. Nothing was to much trouble for her and for someone of a young age she was very informative and caring. The whole trip was superb from start to finish and we would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Everything is as described.

Wow! What a brilliant day we had... -
Wow! What a brilliant day we had with our friendly guide Thi! Everything ran smoothly - our guide and driver met us at the port on time. Our vehicle had plenty of extra room and was clean and comfortable. Thi was so informative, spoke good clear english and knew the answers to all our questions. The tour itself was very interesting visiting a number of different areas. We were given the option of using the lift at Marble mountain or going inside... so glad we chose to climb the stairs inside as you see so much more. We went to a lovely place called The Secret Garden for lunch and had a quality set menu Vietnamese lunch (we just had to pay for drinks). We arrived back to the boat in perfect time feeling we had made the most of our day. Highly recommend!

She fitted in with what we wanted to see and offered suggestions. The lunch at The Secret Garden was enjoyed by all. We had time to shop and Trang was helpful with that also. A great experience !
Linda February 2018

It all depends on the guide. The Hoi... -
It all depends on the guide. The Hoi An port is industrial and it is very difficult to find the tour operator since they are outside of the port. There is no one with a sign with your name, you have to ask all of the drivers standing around if they are your tour. Very poor planning in a not so pleasant situation. Other operators meet their customers by the ship with a name on a sign.
Regarding the guide: some friends had a wonderful, informed guide from the same company. Their tour was great. Mine on the other hand was not. My guide spoke little English and was not at all helpful. I listened in on the other guide when we were in the same locations and she said to ask any questions to her because my guide did not speak English.
I tried to engage my guide with some simple questions to no avail. She left me at a restaurant with no explanation of the food or how to make wraps, etc. Finally another person from another company helped me out a bit. Mysteriously the car I was in broke down and we had to get another vehicle. It was fixed in an hour and we went back to Da Nang. It seem to me the driver just went shopping!
She and the driver talked the whole way and never once acknowledged my presence it was basically a waste of money. The other people had a great time so it all depends on the guide. My guide should be pursuing another career.

One star was because they did get me back to ship on time!
