A Great Trip in Any Weather! - Although the day was unseasonably chilly and occasionally wet, my daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful, interesting narrated tour of a portion of Loch Ness, complete with amazing views of the castle ruins. I would recommend this as an important part of understanding the generations-long fascination with Nessie and his alleged home!

Well worth the trip. - Great information about the loch and the castle. Crew was fantastic. We did not book through the ship so it was a little bit of a chore getting there. We had to take a city bus from Invagordon to Inverness. Then the local 919 bus to the Loch. No bus stop at the location. Made a real adventure of it. The cruise had the same tour but it was 189 each through them ond ol like 54 total for two directly with operator plus bus fares of a total of about 25 each round trip. So around of 100 each instead of 189.

Noisy boat with scenic views - The harbour was easy to find and the trip over the lake was scenic. The boat was very noisy and had no wifi. You could not hear the interesting commentary and could not download it either to listen on earphones. That spoilt it for me. The coffee on board was good and the views of Urqhart Castle from the lake was unbeaten.

Not enough parking and rude staff - Not worth the time or money. Avoid the tours that depart from Clansman Hotel Harbour, they do not have enough parking, supposedly there is an overflow lot either 5 or 15 minutes down the road, depending on who you ask. We arrived the suggested 30 minutes early at the hotel car park and had to wait 10 minutes sitting just off the road for them to direct the multiple cars and buses in front of us. When we finally got up to the parking attendants, the first one tried to send us to the overflow lot saying it’s only 5 minutes down the road. I asked if he was sure because the brochure says 15 minutes and I’m with my elderly parents who have difficulty walking. After a few uhhhs and ummms he walked away and another attendant came over and said we didn’t have time to go to the overflow lot and sent us to park in the layby close to the hotel. There was already a truck taking a break there so that also became a mess of us and several others vying for the few spots available. They need to either have more parking, spread out the boat departures so previous passengers can leave before new arrivals, or have all boats leave from their Dochgarroch Lock location. The boat ride itself was a very generic 20 minute ride to the castle where they stop to drop off/pick up passengers. My family took this time to walk around the boat and got yelled at by a staff member because we were quickly taking a picture by where the new passengers would be walking by…? It made no sense and was completely unnecessary when we signed up for a relaxing 50 cruise, not a 20 minute out, sit for 10 minutes, and 20 minutes back. We felt it was a waste of our time and regretted going on the cruise.
