Pass the traffic light in front of the castle gate and pass the bridge and the gate. You will find the guide under the gate with a gray cap and name card.

Ryuji the Dragon. Worth it. Book this one. - Ryuji was our guide and he nailed it. This was our last tour of a 3 week trip and maybe our best guide. He knew every detail and told a wonderful story as he walked us through the space. He knows where the best pictures are, where the interesting stories are and how to tell them. My wife and I had a great time. All around excellent tour and tour guide.

Worth it. Choose this one. - There is no shortage of positive reviews on Ryuji. My wife and I got to see why. He is a VERY knowledgeable and skilled tour guide. He knows thw history inside and out. He makes the tours fun and interactive. We are history nerds and found his level of detail and enthusiasm wonderful. Highly recommend.

Awesome guided tour - Ryuji san gave us a guided tour of the Himeji Castle. He is both knowledgeable and funny. We learned a lot about Japanese castle defense and people's way of life in feudal Japan from him. We feel the guided tour was worth it because otherwise we wouldn't have understood the significance of the things we were looking at. We highly recommend this tour.

Best tour of Japan’s most beautiful castle - Ryuji was an excellent and knowledgeable tour guide. When we booked this, we did not realize that it would be a one on one tour, but it was the best way of seeing Japan’s most beautiful castle. We also frequently noticed other visitors listening in to Ryuji’s stories about the place. Would 100% recommend booking this tour, Ryuji was very patient, kind, and knowledgeable.

Best tour ever - Ryuji was an incredibile guide and I’m very happy I booked him for this extensive and detailed tour of the history and architecture of Himeji Castle. His English is flawless and he also speaks Italian which was a huge plus. He made the tour very interesting and did so by storytelling and making it a fun experience. Since Himeji is such a beautiful castle I highly recommend booking this tour with Ryuji to make the best out of the visit.

Excellent tour experience - Ryuji Matsuyama is an excellent tour guide. He was very communicative before meeting us, responsible and punctual. As the teacher he is, he gave us a thorough tour explaining the history of the castle without being in a rush. Always answered our questions and had a good sense of humor and control of the English language. Gave us a lot of insights and also knew the best spots for taking the best pictured. We highly recommend him and this tour.
