- Sani Pass - 9.00 AM\n\nWith eager anticipation the tour group departs from the starting point and heads up to the highest pass in South Africa, Sani Pass. We travel through Himeville to the World Heritage Site of the uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, following the Mkomazana River up the scenic Sani Valley to the South African Border Post (border formalities) and the Lesotho Border.\n\n11.30 AM\n\nAfter the Lesotho border formalities at the top of Sani Pass, the group makes its way to a fully functional Basotho village to learn more about these humble people. You even get to taste their home-made bread and the local beer.\n\n12.30 PM\n\nTo reflect on this incredible expedition, our tour now moves to the Highest Pub in Africa where we enjoy a hearty lunch and cold beer.\n\n2.30 PM\n\nWe make our back down the Sani Pass.\n\n4.00 PM\n\nWe arrive back in Underberg.

Our starting point is from our Office at The Stables Market Place in Himeville on the Sani Road. It offers safe and secure parking for your vehicle whilst on tour with us. We can also pick you up from from any accommodation in the area of Underberg or Himeville.

Recommend! - Good tour company! Gives a lot of information and best way to visit Lesotho! You will meet a lot of locales. You also have the possibility to have a lunch at the top.

Fantastic experience - We drove up Sani Pass today, with Roof of Africa Tours. We had made the wrong reservation ourselves (August 16 instead of July 16), but it was no problem. Within half an hour a guide was waiting for us, and we were picked up at the departure location.
It was a fantastic trip to Lesotho. The pass is difficult, but our experienced guide Aldo made us feel safe. He knew a lot to tell, not only of how the mountains were formed, but also about the flora and fauna and the country of Lesotho. And in addition, he also gave an insight into the life of himself, so we learned a lot about South Africa.
In addition to driving the Sani Pass, we visited a village, where we were guests of a family from Lesotho. This was all very well arranged by Roof of Africa Tours, the family and the organization working together, so there was no pressure of tipping or buying things. We also went to the Highest Pub of Africa, where we had a nice lunch.
All in all, a great day to start our trip in South Africa. I would definitely recommend Roof of Africa Tours and Aldo (our guide) to anyone, should they be near Underberg.

Excellent trip to Sani and Lesotho. - The perfect trip from the start to finish,from the convenient booking, pick up and to the drop off. The 2 guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. The drive up to Lesotho and the pub was very pleasant and comfortable. 100%

A great trip up Sani Pass to Lesotho - Such a great tour! Emil was highly knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend Roof of Africa Tours. He took care of everything and made sure everyone got the most out of it, and was patient with all my questions!

Awesome - Overall experience, very knowledgeable guide, excellent driving skills, going the extra mile. Visiting the traditional homestead, tasting the home baked bread and beer was special and informative. Learning and experiencing the culture of Lesotho an added bonus to the Sani Pass. Thanks to Emile for a great day.

50th Anniversary Celebration To Remember - Thank you to Roof of Africa Tours for going out of your way to make our tour an amazing one. Picked up from our cottage. Sandile, our guide was great in his knowledge and hospitality. Stops for the views and fresh air, some fun facts and a small tea/coffee break on the way. We reached the top, had a tour at a small village with a taste of the home made bread. Lunch at the highest pub in Africa, good food and great company.

A great day experiencing Sani Pass with Family. - An amazing trip on Saturday from the time we as a family were picked up from our Cottage in Underberg until the time we were dropped back at our Cottage. Peter our guide was really professtional, explaining what the trip would entail as we had first-timers in our family group. He was always pointing out different types of Birds, Vultures and plants and flowers along the way. His talk at the village on how the peope of Lesotho wear their blankets and how they cook was very interesting, p;us more. The two kids we had in our group really took to Peter and were asking questions along the way both up and down the pass, plus whilst at the Village.

Exceptional setting, breathtaking views, enriching explanations given during the outing.
We met some very nice people and will always have fond memories of this visit.
