Highlights
  • Cu Chi Tunnels - Arrive in Cu Chi tunnels
Tour guide will give you an overview introduction of Cu Chi Tunnels and its legendary history. Enjoy the scenic drive northwest towards the Cambodian border. You will get to explore a section of the network of some 125 miles (200 kilometers) of subterranean passages and rooms. Upon arrival at the Cu Chi Tunnels, take a short documentary film about the Cu Chi tunnels tell you how about the tunnels histories and how fierce the war happened. Then the tour guide will help you to learn the pivotal part they played in the war such as trap doors, and climb inside to see where the Viet Cong built storage facilities, weapons factories, kitchens. Afterward travelers can try local special foods like rice tapioca and hot tea which was main food in Cu Chi during the war. Visitors can try to fire off an AK47 or MK16 or machine guns at the nearby shooting range (not included, participate at own expense and risk).
Leave Cu Chi tunnels and transfer for lunch.
  • Ben Thanh Market - Ben Thanh Market in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1 is a great place to buy local handicrafts, branded goods, Vietnamese art and other souvenirs. Here, you’ll find eating stalls inside the market where you can get a taste of hawker-style Vietnamese cuisine or simply cool off with a cold drink when the bargaining becomes too much. The market is big, difficult to navigate at times and certainly best avoided during the hottest part of the day but all the same its well worth a look. When night falls, restaurants around the perimeter of the market open their doors creating a vibrant street side scene filling the air with the scents of wok-fried noodles, barbecued fish and meats. One of Saigon’s oldest landmarks, Ben Thanh offers a great atmosphere that is absolutely authentically Vietnamese.
  • Ho Chi Minh City - If we have more time (depending on cruise ship schedule), we could arrange you to visit more famous places in Ho Chi Minh City: Notre Dame Cathedral, The Central Post Office, Independence Palace, The People’s Committee Building Saigon .etc.

Fascinating tunnel tour - We had only one day in Vietnam and our ship docked in Phu My. Because of this the tour company gave us the option of doing a tour of the city or visiting the tunnels as there wouldn't be sufficient time to do both. We opted for the tunnels as it was our number one choice. The drive from the port did take us through the city so we were able to get a flavour of what it was like. The tunnels themselves were extremely interesting, it was amazing how people survived living in them for any length of time. There was a nice meal afterwards. The drive back to the port was longer than expected due to the expressway being closed but we made it back to the ship with time to spare. Special thanks to our guide, Sunny, for the information and our driver

Excellent Tour - Based on some changes to our travel schedule, we asked last minute to change this to a tour of Saigon. I also listed some of the specific sites we’d enjoy. The tour operator gladly accommodated our requests, and our guide the next day arrived fully aware of the new itinerary. Tom spoke fluent English and gave us enough information at each location without overwhelming us. We saw everything we’d hoped to and finished our day with very tasty (non touristy) food and ice cold beer. Our friendly driver drove safely. My wife and I both agreed it was one of our favorite tours we’ve done. HMC/Saigon is lovely. We’ll catch the tunnels next time!

Bruno was a great tour guide. Very interesting tour! - Our cruise ship stopped at Phu My. My dad has always wanted to see the Cu Chi tunnels outside of HCMC so we booked this tour. We had an amazing tour guide named Bruno. We explained that we wanted the highlights of the tunnels and that we couldn’t walk for a long period of time because my dad is elderly and needs to take breaks. Bruno knocked it out of the ballpark. He was so knowledgeable and had a passion for explaining the tunnels. Every question that my dad asked, Bruno knew the answer to. This was by far, my dad’s favorite excursion during the entire cruise. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy it but it left a lasting impact on me and that’s because of the way Bruno explained everything. I highly recommend Bruno and this tour.

Great tour, great guide - Due to the delay with the ship we discussed with Ben, what we wanted to do. We chose to skip the Cu Chi. We got a part refund. We did the tour of the city. Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. He suggested we visited the temple in Phu My. This, for me, was the highlight of tour.
