Fly over Vatnajökull and see the Grímsvötn eruption site from above on this 50-minute tour from Skaftafell. Grímsvötn is a basaltic volcano located on the northwestern side of the Vatnajökull ice cap. It has the highest eruption frequency of all volcanoes in Iceland. The most recent eruptions in Grímsvötn were in 2011, 2004, 1998 and 1996. Choose from multiple departure times to suit your schedule.

Once in a Lifetime! - We felt like this was a once in a lifetime opportunity to fly over an active volcano, and it did not disappoint! The helicopter was new and beautiful and the pilot was terrific. Amazing views from all the windows. Highly recommend!

Magic! - Today we toured above the erupting volcano. It was magical! The pilot was just above the eruption and stayed there for more than 10 minutes. No matter where you were in the helicopter, you had a great view. I recommend +++ this activity

Fire in Iceland - Wow- just spectacular over the erupting volcano- amazing views and a must do item off your bucket list - the company is reputable and our pilot John was fabulous

Experience of a Lifetime - Very friendly, staff, professional. They struggled with the weather for our flight, being delayed on 3 occasions but they came through and what a great flight!
The topography was awesome, flying over the active volcano was the best.
An experience of a lifetime.
Would we do it again with them, yes, at the drop of a hat we would be back to do it again.
