Great local experience. - I joined the tour via my hostel. Once I arrived in Sapa, we stayed at a hotel, all foods are provided. For trekking we visited about five local villages. It’s a great way to know local people’s culture and way of living. My local tour guide, Mao, was excellent. She did a great job leading our group.

Se Pa - 3 days tour - I went for the 3 days 2 nights SE PA your with Mao, and I couldn’t recommend this tour more. The tour is very well organised with a surprisingly comfortable sleeping bus where you can sleep as well as you could expect on a bus during the 6 hours to reach Se Pa from Hà Nội. In Se Pa you are placed in a very centrally located hotel in the centre of Se Pa village with walking distance to anywhere in the village. The highlight of the tour is definitely the hike on Day 2 through a scenic landscape with expert support from the locals to ensure all arrive in 1 piece to the Homestay, which is set in a picturesque location in the valley. Anyone who want to get a glimpse into the Se Pa way of life and see the beautiful setting it takes place at should take this tour. Special shout out to Mao who provides you with context to the tour with fluent English and interesting additional facts about the village and life in Vietnam in general.

Interesting Trek - The trekking part was great but I wish we had been told in advance of the type of terrain that we'd be covering. In the brochures and in conversation with the travel operator, it was shown as easy walks along flat paths but in reality you end up going into the jungle and going up/down steep inclines with narrow muddy tracks. We even saw a small landslide but luckily that was way ahead of us. Our tour guide Mao was good and knew the land and the people well and has a very friendly manner which, helped with the experience. There was a group of local village ladies who accompanied us for most of the journey but it transpired that they just wanted to sell us mass produced purses and bags.
